My parents came to this country in about 1960. They worked hard & integrated well. Going for drinks with work collegues and getting involved in the world that was going to be their new home for the next 60 odd years. This is integration. What we have here is the exact opposite.

This doesn’t seem like a great idea imo. Most of these aside from Morrisons aren’t really great value. For £10 you can feed a family of 4 with a roast &probably have some leftover for the follow days lunch. They invite the kids for free because there’s enough margin to do so 1/2

It’s heightened slightly as a result of the games but it’s certainly friendly. People are generally proud of the city; there’s loads going for it: great for startups, loads of independent food, amazing architecture, lots of green space, a big city feel and of course the people!

Bit of a netative outlook I feel. I run a small cyber security company and we pay well. Plus most love that fact that they’re not limited to 26 days. Meaning if you’ve grafted all week and there’s no commitment you can take the Friday off without it eating into your allocation.

My dad lost his dad when he was 4 and his mom when he was 11. Was bounced around family in an unsupportive 1940s/1950s India. He’s now my sole living parent and one of my best friends. It wasn’t always like this but I have a lot of respect for my dad.
