Women and their bodies aren’t jokes to Jesus.

One of the biggest problems with social media is it gives the meanest people the biggest microphones and rewards them for using it frequently. I used to believe certain platforms pushed more beauty and less ugliness, but that’s not true. People click and comment more from hate.

@CW_CrossTimbers Completely agree. As our girls got older, I heard of two instances involving friend’s children and was appalled but believed they were isolated incidents. Of course that was not true. And the way they lovebomb our local authorities and first responders on stage, but won’t report!

@malindadjust I was never able to go to summer camp as a kid and always saw it as a privilege that I wished I could have experienced. Church camp seemed like a “better” opportunity. I see it in a whole new light now. So so grateful for my husband’s protection. I bet your daughter is wise!

@CW_CrossTimbers Very grateful for his discernment. They went once because I knew both of their cabin counselors (mom friends) very well. But after last year, I learned things about my old church that should not have ever been brushed under the rug. And about so many of my friends pain.

For the most part, we are not going to be able to see the truly good pastors at work on social media because… they are not on social media. They’re pastoring and shepherding their flocks, not building a social media platform. I’m grateful for them. We need them more than ever.

Empathy is not toxic. Deception is toxic. Empathy is not disconnected from truth; using people’s empathic nature, especially women’s, to paint them as unbiblical, rebellious, ignorant, or demonic is more than toxic. It’s a lie. It’s evil. No more hot takes from toxic pastors.

This is so good. We need people who see what we can’t, who show us the goodness of God when the light and color and joy of world seems to grow dim. We need to become the kind of people willing to stop, scoop, carry, and spread God’s goodness we keep saying we want more of.
