And it has started. Tackling the complex bureacracy and fight for support in SEND was one of the biggest issues constituents raised with me and is a personal committment. Glad the Labour government are tackling it head on.
The Tories said the SEND system is “lose, lose, lose”.
I agree.
The difference is I’m gripping the issue. We have already restructured the Department to focus on improving inclusion in mainstream schools for children with SEND.
A long way to go, but an important start.

When I speak to young people across Stoke-on-Trent South, they tell me they’re sick of being ignored and treated with contempt by this government.
