It’s completely understandable that he lost his ID. This happens to lots of people. And that’s the point. He should not be disenfranchised. Nor should anyone else. The law is ridiculous.
I understand the interest in my emergency proxy vote today. I do tend to be bad at losing stuff. I’m also very dyspraxic. Though I don’t want to blame this on everything it does make things challenging for me and I do my best but I do lose things and today it was my passport.

I try not to be personal in politics. But Scott was leader of Calderdale tories for years, he’d always choose to be unpleasant & divisive & frequently lied with alacrity. His views on abortion & equality reside in another century. I hope this gives him the humility he so lacks.

As a councillor we are at the front line in the fight against austerity. I give hours of my life to the party. We are labour members who govern - being in power is not a dirty word...there is no route back to power nationally without listening to those of us who have won locally.
Apparently Starmer is already contacting Labour councillors, telling them that, as leader, he’d give THEM more say in how the party’s run.
Another way of saying, he’d take power away from members. And he’s offering this, effectively, as a carrot.
I’m not loving this direction.
