Definitely bubble territory. The market for chips is huge, but there are lots of players working on custom hardware and real competitors will ship in coming years. NVIDIA is a great company. Froth is real right now tho.

Gemini and similar foundation models are both dumb and smart!
They're dumb in a lot of nuanced ways, but underlying that there is real reasoning ability - and it's expanding into the visual domain!

I don't think it would work. I get the whole scaling is all you need argument, but I really believe there needs to be at least 1 fundamental algorithmic breakthrough to get us there. Transformers are just way too inefficient

I think this is mostly right, but it misses the mark for "big startups" i.e. big companies that still have a culture of shipping quality stuff fast.
Examples include

At this point it should be glaringly obvious that companies tacking on "ai bots" to their products aint it
