Still laughing at the way the BBC commentators thought Zubimendi coming on for Rodri would turn the tie in England’s favour, talking about him as if he’d won a competition to be there.
Just complete arrogance, he walks into that English midfield.
Chuffed to see one of the articles I wrote as part of my

MA dissertation - on the idea of a four day week in Wales - appearing in Saturday’s Western Mail
Really enjoyed my time on the

The point is we should never have been within only a kick of qualifying. Even tonight this game would’ve been wrapped up had he stuck with a dynamic front 3 against a sluggish Polish backline. & DJ finishing at RWB just about sums it up really re. Page I’m afraid. Time to go.
“We were one kick away from qualifying. There's a lot more to come, a lot of good times ahead"
Rob Page | Cymru yn colli i Wlad Pwyl ar giciau o'r smotyn.
Another 🏴 loss tonight would leave the FAW with a big decision to make. Should they pull the plug on Rob Page, there’ll be no shortage of suitors for what is an attractive job. I’ve put together my own shortlist of who I think should be in the running👇🏻

We’ve gone from the cusp of EURO 2024 and a 4th major tournament in 5, to blokes almost coming to blows over 3rd choice GK Tom King in the stands here. How far Welsh football has fallen…

Not sure what Sky Sports are hoping to achieve with these YouTuber plugs. Aside from the odd 12 year-old die hard Th*gden fan, they appeal to absolutely nobody and massively cheapen the product which Sky continues to charge an absolute fortune for 🤷🏼♂️
For him to keep his original seats you’d probably have to turf nearby fans out of theirs. How would that go down?
We bang on about out of touch politicians, so it is refreshing to have a PM who a) actually knows which team he supports, & b) has a normal hobby.
"What rules has he broken? A man wants to continue to watch football with his children? We have to keep our Prime Minister safe."
Gary Neville criticises what he says is unfair scrutiny over Keir Starmer accepting hospitality tickets to Arsenal.

Not sure that being “in transition” can really be an excuse in int’l football. Arguably a national side is always in transition? Retirements/ debutants, only having a handful of camps per year to get the message across to changed squads. To go full Keane, it’s kind of… your job?
Personally, I don’t mind the PM having a release outside of what is probably the most stressful job in the country, that doesn’t involve sleeze, shooting foxes, or spending millions in taxpayers’ money…
Rounding off the Cardiff City theme, I wrote about the problems that will face the third permanent manager to grace the CCS home dugout this season. I (somehow) managed to narrow it down to just the three.

How on earth can VAR deem Berge to have deliberately handballed it there? Yet more evidence these officials don’t understand the game they’re in charge of…

Ebou Adams and Isaak Davies lining up today for the U21s as they host Barnsley at the CCS. Good chance to see Joel Bagan too as he fights for a new deal.
1. Young players are inconsistent, it’s par for the course, but how are they supposed to improve on that if you don’t start them?
2. I’d much rather see a few, brief flashes of brilliance from Tanner or Colwill than whatever it is that Meite/ Kanga currently bring to the side…
SCOTLAND HAVE DONE IT! 🏴
Two goals in three minutes and Kenny McLean has scored what could be a historic winner 😱😱

Top goal/ cameo from Colwill today. Add that to Robinson’s performance midweek. And both off the back of Bulut demanding more - a masterstroke of man management 👏🏻 (last seen under Warnock).
✍️ 🐦 Who is Bluebirds new-boy Ike Ugbo? And might he be an upgrade on Sory Kaba?
Well, the stats seem to suggest he could well be ⬇️

Wow, what a second half performance from Stevenage after a solid first 👏🏻
So many great contributions but Eli King oozed class this afternoon.
Barnsley’s worst showing of the season by far, presumably.

Five years on from Emiliano Sala's death - and still Cardiff City wage a legal battle to get their cash back. How grubby and classless.
My
@MailSport
column:
Seems almost guaranteed now that survival rides on those last 3. Meaning WORST case we could be looking at one or a combination of Sean Morrison/ Pelts’ Rotherham, Warnock/ Danny Ward’s Huddersfield or Bellamy/ a certain Connor Roberts’ Burnley putting the final nails in our ⚰️
£1.5m now + likely extortionate wages to avoid the likes of Besiktas snapping him up in 6 months. All on a player who’s the wrong side of 30 and will have little resale value in 1/2 years. Not for me.
For 25 years, Welsh Labour has shown what we can do when in power.
But imagine what more we could do with a Labour Government in Westminster, which matches the ambition we have in Wales.
With a variety of names & styles seemingly in the hat,
@SamRPortillo
asked what type of manager

FT: 3-1 City. Davies tenacious. Adams doesn’t look far off first team football now. Taylor Jones & Bagan at full back both impressive. Eli King’s range of passing caught the eye at times. Hope Antwi’s okay after a pretty sickening boot to the head in the first half.
With the Bluebirds’ 3rd round FA Cup replay away to Leeds tomorrow night,
@AdamCleary7
put himself in an unenviable position - interim gaffer Dean Whitehead’s shoes.

Wales’ greatest export. 22 Club Trophies, incl a ridiculous 5 UEFA Champions Leagues. Took little old 🏴 to a World Cup and 2 Euros, truly putting us on the map. A true icon of Welsh football who made the nation dream again. Viva Gareth Bale.

Interesting listening on yesterday’s

re. focus groups’ views on Starmer vs what the polls are showing. Suggests that despite his party’s lead, the Labour leader still has a long way to go to convince voters of his personal merits.
Writing about City’s woes this season has been a good cathartic release for me during this pretty horrendous period we’re in. Here’s my latest piece for

Isaak Davies deserves that, looked sharp for weeks with the under 21s and unlucky not to have played a bigger part in Lamouchi’s plans. More of that next season please 🔥
Looking to speak to anyone who was stuck on a TFW train between Llandaff and Radyr from around 6am this morning or who knows more about the reasons for the delays

Peter Kay adds: “And with the cost of living at an all-time high, ticket prices are starting from £35. The same price they were on my previous tour in 2010”
#PeterKayLive
Davies playing with real intensity and quality in what so far has been a pretty stop-start game. His touches and link-up play particularly impressive. Would love to see how he’d get on playing off Kaba with Philogene.
Jaden Philogene the stand out so far this half for Cardiff. Finding a lot of joy cutting in from that right side and providing a real outlet/ threat. Has come a long way since pre-World Cup and seems to have gone up a gear under Sabri.

@SamRPortillo
Ah cheers, there’s a pretty convenient function on Wordpress for it. Amazing the things you see on there when not in the trenches of a production day 😅
It’s nearly a month since Dalman teased an “exciting” season ticket-busting signing, and with Ramsey’s Nice contract expiring in 2 days the picture should soon become a lot clearer. With this in mind, I’ve looked at the qs around Rambo’s potential return👇🏻
Of course results help, but like NW, EB’s proved there are far easier ways to win fans over
A bit of community outreach & openness in the press can almost go as far as winning 3pts in cutting you slack when results inevitably dip.
Baffles me why so many managers refuse to do it
And after a quiet game so far for him, it’s that man Ebou Adams who’s opened the scoring with a side-footed volley from the edge of the box. Cracking goal. 1-0.
If Wembley’s half as special and sacred as it claims to be, then surely holding two semis before the final diminishes that? & If it’s for ‘convenience’ then common sense would suggest giving Spurs (the other London ground) at least one, or both of the ties 🤔
EURO 2028 bid:
The following stadium have been included on the list.
No Anfield or Old Trafford leaps out.
“Compact & Connected” is a major sell.
“Proposed semi-final & final at Wembley offering convenience for teams & spectators” 🤔
