I have a quick story to share. A while ago I wanted to buy some plants for a friend's housewarming, so I was googling plant nurserys near me.
This place didn't show up but I realised that I had always passed it. It's always full stocked with green, flowering plants.

They're located in 15th Cross.

The man has had a steady stream of customers for the last three days and was wondering what happened, i told him about this tweet and he was overjoyed!

This poor man is struggling to sell any plants at all. And he is selling some really healthy, fresh green plants which would be a perfect addition to any home.
Help this man make ends meet. Buy a plant!
He is located just outside Lahe Lahe near 80 ft road in Indiranagar.

Walking around Bengaluru and I'm realising there is a critical lack of public places. I'm talking about parks, zones where people can just go and chill or walk their pets without needing to shell out money in order to do so.
Today's my Appa's birthday. So naturally, I wished him after I woke after a nap and the man responded: "Thanks for the wish, I ask that you only post nice pictures of me"
So here is a nice picture of my Appa from 1997 in Kathmandu. Emulating the vibes I want in '22 ✨
My grandma left us and this earth early this morning. There is a void, a huge one. But I know I’ll have to carry on, because that’s what she would have wanted. I love this memory of her, so resharing. Please keep her in your thoughts.
At times, it is just exhausting to be a female reporter in startups and tech.
Predatory remarks is somehow a regular occurrence. Nothing stops some of these men, who go out of their way to "shoot their shot", ugh.
As a result, he had been asked to pull down his shop multiple times. But a lot of the people in the surrounding shops were able to fight for him, and by some stroke of luck he was able to keep his shack on that road.
He tells me he migrated to Bangalore from UP.

. Being raised by a single parent is never easy, but my dad made it effortless.
He taught me to be kind to every person and always told me that there's nothing I can't do.
Loved by all, he's truly one of the most pivotal role models I've had in my life.
On a side note, this man has no tech and hence no UPI. He borrows someone else's UPI but there's no way of verifying if he actually receives the payment from the guy or not.
Please feel free to bring cash along.
Attended a wedding for the first time as a proper adult in a post pandemic Bangalore.

The other kicker here, is that many students were asked to leave their jobs in order to attend full time.
Now, most of these students are left scrambling for work, looking for any leads possible.
I ask him the price for this plant, and like usual begin bargaining for a bit. Later he tells me that he'll be okay selling it for any price because he had not been able to sell any plants at all.
Recently the end of the road near Lahe Lahe had been reconstructed.
Someone at the restaurant we went to for lunch took a picture of us:
Couldn't help but remark how it looks like we just raised a Series A round for our imaginary startup 🥲

Powerful.
He doesn't have any formal education so he didn't really have any route to actually get a job. No hotel etc would employ him either.
He found himself selling plants somehow. But everyday, he is yelled at or his livelihood is threatened as people ask him to leave.

If you're curious about exploring the North East Region, my friend Kavya is hosting a co-op journey across Nagaland.
Most travel agents who offer packages to the region are extremely exploitative and offer exorbitant packages that come at a grave cost.
Those of us who went to Mount Carmel College, obviously know of our beloved Raj Uncle from RR Blue Mount and his infamous Mexican Chaat and Deltaaz
If you have the bandwidth, uncle is open for takeaway. Amplifying this for him!

You almost miss it when you pass up this road because it almost blends into the surrounding. Plus you're more likely hopping into Lahe Lahe, so by all means easy to miss.
I came up to this green shack, stood by to see if there would be someone who could help out.

Pride to me is evolution. I went from convincing myself that I am straight to accepting my attraction for multiple genders.
The person I was would never have the courage to say it out loud. But today, I can say it out loud with the biggest smile.

I distinctly remember the journey to making it there.
My parents invested a huge chunk savings in order to send me there, breaking into deposits they saved for a rainy day.
Surely enough, a frail old man comes up asking me not to move as he hurriedly brings over some water for the plants he is selling.
He manages to source a bit of water from a store nearby who is generous enough to offer this old man some water.
It's my grandma's 86tb birthday today. They aren't the celebrating kind, but my dad's on his way back from home and bringing along a small cake to surprise her.

Begun watching The Serpent on Netflix, which is an adaption of the tale of serial killer Charles Sobhraj.
Wonderful story telling! You're really transported into the story just by the excellent acting, direction and cinematography.
