I have had similar experiences as a Lab Scientist too. After clearly stating I am a Laboratory Scientist, you still see people call me a nurse and be like 'eh, it's the same thing’
It isn't. Nursing is a very noble profession but I am not a nurse and will never be one.
The reason why patients and patient relatives call doctor women 'nurse' is because a woman CANNOT be a doctor.
It is a gender bias issue and it is wrong.
