Here’s the dilemma; I’m a Prot that can’t stress the importance of works as it relates to Salvation without being called Federal Vision or a Roman Catholic. And Catholics don’t believe that your salvation comes from your works, which is what I’ve always been taught.

Prots do not say that works are UNIMPORTANT. It’s just not necessary for salvation.
But you have to have faith in order to be saved. And faith without works is dead. Ergo, it seems that works have some salvific qualities.

I’ve been leading a Bible study for the past 1 1/2 years at a Christian, Protestant halfway house. I’ve been keeping leadership abreast of my faltering Protestantism. Tomorrow is a big meeting where ALL the leadership is going to get put up to speed.

Basically, Federal Vision was an effort by certain reformed theologians to reconcile the Prot creeds with historical Christianity. Faith Alone was one of the topics that was broached, also Baptismal Regeneration, Paedocommunion, etc.
