@MacroJason South Asia might just be the same But Pakistan, trades at a significant discount to India (for obvious reasons) It might be a useful mean-reversion play

@AlphaExponent @taranvirkaonke I agree, although inflation in Mainland China (and Hong Kong!) is very low (if not outright negative) Look at what happened to Japan It would be easier to "normalise" housing prices in an inflationary economy like the UK, or USA.

@AlphaExponent @taranvirkaonke Exactly. It's Malthusianism with capitalist characteristics, happening in (at least Mainland China) a socialist state. Malthus, Smith & Marx would be rolling over in their graves

@MikeFritzell 1) Won't higher nominal JPY rates, cause a fiscal crisis? 2) If JPY rates rise relative to US, the carry between USD-JPY will collapse, causing JPY appreciation and the Nikkei/Topix to fall

@powerfultakes One might hypothesize that the hub of ancient civilizations whose present day geopolitical nation is relatively neutral (ie: Türkiye, Mexico) would be the best places to be

@HeYiyong @BrianTycangco @HAOHONG_CFA I politely disagree - I'm betting on yen hedged TOPIX, value-bias. But HSCEI is probably a runner up. I'd avoid A/B shares.

@taranvirkaonke @AKay19_ Trying to diversify Punjabi farmers away from Wheat & Paddy subsidies, is like trying to diversify HK from Real estate rent-seeking and luxury retail. Ain't going to happen, it's one hell of a drug!
