Great work by @Jakeadoll and team showing the reliability and feasibility of intravascular imaging as a performance measure. @DNFeldmanMD and I share our thoughts in @CircIntv on the positives / negatives of using IVI as a metric. Link:

Thanks for highlighting our work in @JAMANetworkOpen. Despite significant advances in treatment, we showed that there has been minimal improvement in mortality for heart failure. There remains significant room to improve the longitudinal care of these patients.
Trends in mortality after incident HF in US 2008 to 2018 N=1,256,041 Medicare Beneficiaries 🏨 w/ HF Little to no improvement in 30 day, 1 year, 2 year or 3 year survival rates 🚨 gaps in implementation and titration of GDMT has serious consequences

@WCM_CVRI @lab_cao Thanks for inviting me! One note: we actually found similiar trends between HFrEF and HFpEF patients, but there was a slightly larger reduction for HFpEF patients in the acute period. Key point is that improvements in mortality overall have stalled in the post-discharge periods.

Proud of my wife @NouraChoudhury! It really requires super human powers to do day care drop off AND pickups most days of the week while being a superstar in thoracic oncology!
Congratulations to LUNGevity’s 2023 Career Development Award recipients: @NouraChoudhury (@MSKCancerCenter), Jaclyn LoPiccolo (@DanaFarber), @DrDianeTseng (@UW). To learn more about these exciting projects, visit #TransformingLungCancer #LUNGevityResearch

Our work with @wschpero, @DhruvKhullar, and @RainuKaushal highlighted by @WeillCornell. Full text of paper here:
Hospital ICUs most likely to be overloaded during the pandemic served more Black patients and patients enrolled in Medicaid than hospitals in areas with open beds, according to a new study led by Dr. William Schpero (@wschpero) of @WCMPopHealthSci.

Excited to share our work in @Health_Affairs (with @wschpero, @DhruvKhullar, and @RainuKaushal) on hospital load imbalance during the COVID-19 pandemic. Key findings and implications ⬇️!
