I’ll pin this, let’s see if I can beat last year:
Outgoings (if sold):
Ramsdale £22m
Nketiah £18m
Reiss £12m
Tierney £11.5m
Sambi £15m
Nuno £4m
Partey £15m
Patino £6m
I don’t think ESR or Vieira get sold but I’d put either around £20m.
Jesus and OZ stay.
Gabriel’s tweets, White flicking the ball into Ødegaard’s head, tripping dudes and giving spicy interviews after a draw, Xhaka picking fights and cursing on live TV…idk, seems like there are some bigger personalities at Arsenal than some would have you believe
Gabriel Martinelli has completed the most dribbles in the Premier League this season, with 20 in 28 attempts. His 71.4% success rate is the best of any player in the top 10.
He completed 31 dribbles all of last season.
Ajax are gonna make like €185m in player sales this summer, turn around and spend €40m on three bright young players from the Eredivisie, promote from their academy and still win another league title and advance to CL knockouts. Amazing club.
Three players are tied for the Premier League lead in shot-creating actions from live passes, with 23: Kevin De Bruyne, Mohamed Salah and ... Granit Xhaka.
🚨 Ethan Nwaneri has committed future to Arsenal by signing scholarship terms + agreeing pro deal when turns 17. Major interest from other clubs but 16yo never wanted to leave - lifelong

fan & Islington born/bred. Huge boost for Gunners
@TheAthleticFC
Benjamin White has tackled 11 of the 14 players (78.6%) who've attempted to dribble past him. He's the only player to face 10 or more dribblers in the Premier League to have succeeded more than 70% of the time.
This past weekend, we said the most unexpected hello - and goodbye - to Florence Theodora Rae Voge. She was beautiful…she looked just like her big brother. Her mother did an amazing job and is recovering well. My family is heartbroken.
Notable absentees from the Arsenal squad tonight:
Jurrien Timber ❌
Thomas Partey ❌
Martin Ødegaard ❌
Emile Smith Rowe ❌
Gabriel Jesus ❌
Eddie Nketiah ❌

Arsenal are pushing for Champions League qualification. Wherever they end up, it's clear that the central midfield will see an overhaul in the summer. So, who's out that that could be a real possibility for the Gunners? Let's check around Europe's top leagues... (🧵)
If City sign Paqueta + a winger, Chelsea sign Lavia and Liverpool close on Caicedo, Arsenal become the fourth-highest spender in the league this summer 👀
Liverpool’s 0.8 xG against Arsenal was the club’s lowest in any Premier League game this season. The game was just the second time the Reds have been held under 10 shots taken.
One finished Top 4 in his first season winning a trophy
The other one finished 8th
The guy who finished 8th was given time & with proper backing he removed all the deadwood players, now they say he is the best while the guy who finished top 4 is flop.
MAKE IT MAKE SENSE
Chelsea paid £32m for this 31-y.o. and put him on £295k per week. Only makes sense he’s retained almost all his value now that the club want to move on.
Understand opening bid from Al Hilal to Chelsea for Kalidou Koulibaly is around €25/30m. Negotiations will continue in the next days. 🚨🔵🇸🇦

Three year deal offered to the player.
🎥 More on Ziyech, Mendy, Koulibaly and Saudi clubs:
To review -
Jan. 1: Is this the best Arsenal have ever played under Arteta? ROBBED by the referee.
Jan. 13: What a performance! Look at how they FIGHT FOR THE BADGE!
Jan. 20: No trophies in two years? This is unacceptable.
Crystal Palace are in 15th and Rob Holding still hasn’t made his PL debut for them. Not looking good for the “would be great for a lower table side” narrative ☹️
✅ Liverpool officially cannot finish ahead of Arsenal this season.
The Gunners’ first time finishing top-two consecutively since the 03/04 and 04/05 seasons.
There’s your versatile defender. Timber’s got a lot of experience for 22. Great pace, aggressive jumping passing lanes, very good transition defender. Height/strength could be a slight concern. Good on the ball. Potential to play RB or some have even said DM.
🚨 EXCLUSIVE: Arsenal working on deal to sign Ajax defender Jurrien Timber.
#AFC
have made an opening offer worth ~£30m.
#Ajax
want ~£50m but optimism a compromise will be reached. Personal terms with Netherlands int’l thought to be in place

Recent reports put a striker and a midfielder at the top of Arsenal's to-do list as the club plots its return path to European football. With specifically a defensive-oriented midfielder rumoured to be the priority, here's my watchlist for the 21-22 season (1/x)...
The international break has brought a new round of striker rumours for Arsenal. With only a couple of months left to play, how are actual and possible Arsenal transfer links performing? Scroll through for the latest: (1/x)
Only a handful of games separate Arsenal from the World Cup, and all of us from spending six weeks guessing what kind of reinforcements Arsenal might bring in. Who's looking especially good out there these days? Let's take a look (thread)
There's something so cool about really liking players on your favorite club. Not just rating, like genuinely liking. To watch a core of Ramsdale-Tierney-Gabriel-White-Tomi-Odegaard-ESR-Martinelli-Saka-Sambi-Nuno grow, push each other and lift each other up is going to be so fun.
I honestly think this is on Arteta. We’ve seen Odegaard and Smith Rowe deployed this way and it’s never worked. He made the choice to disrupt at least three spots of his XI when he could’ve done just one.
Arsenal have missed Tomiyasu. In terms of fullbacks who 1) win the ball back via aerial duels and 2) are tough to get past, he's kind of a one-man island this season. The dot size is accurate long passes per 90, you can see he's not a league leader, but above average.
Honestly I’m happy for these guys at other clubs! May Endo and Disasi bring you many blessings 🙏🏻 we’ll have to just grind it out with Saliba and Rice 😢
Klopp taking off Salah at 69 minutes for Fabinho when he only had Elliott and Carvalho left, if you really think about it, says a lot about what playing Arsenal is like now. He was playing not to lose.
Too early for rankings but I'll spend this international break posting some players on my templates so far. I think most would've said Ben White was having a great season so far, but this is a wow. Complete a cross into the box once every two games and this chart would be crazy.
Inherited KDB, Aguero, Sterling, Silva and then spent €1B on transfer fees over the next five while also outpacing the entire league on wages and agent fees for years.
Had the worst net spend his first two seasons. City’s net spend ‘08-‘17 is double the next.

Talking like they didn’t spend half the Grealish money on Buendia and Ings, then not sell anyone else of note, then also sign Bailey and Digne for €60m, Carlos for €30m, freaking COUTINHO, Dendoncker, Moreno, Duran and follow all that up with £80m for Pau and Diaby
Two statements that are both true:
1. Alexandre Lacazette had a wonderful game against West Ham and will likely be crucial to our league position this season.
2. Arsenal shouldn't extend Lacazette's contract by more than 1 year.
Winger, wide forward...whatever terminology you use, it seems Arsenal are in the market for a player to attack from wide positions (bonus for those who can spend time central). With the season nearly at its end, which wide players are worth a shout? Let's look around... (1/x)
Arsenal continue to be linked with strikers for the future, with Alexandre Lacazette likely out by summer or sooner and Pierre-Emerick Aubameyang both aging and nearing his contract's end. So who within Arsenal's reach is showing promise? Let's check in (1/x)
Who knows if it's true but £42m for a 25-y.o. forward who can play three positions, has almost 60 PL G and almost 30 PL A, nearly 100 league starts, 20 CL goals and has been coached in a similar system is ... not bad. I'd love it to be a little less, but not complaining.
The Arsenal RB situation...It's among the most mentioned issues with the starting XI, but the club have been linked to few solutions...so who should they sign?
I analysed 34 somewhat realistic options on a nine-metric scale. Here's who stood out to me... (1/x)

@EduardoHagn
, here's a comparison of Emerson Royal v. Takehiro Tomiyasu, with a focus more on defense and ball progression. I'm sure this is the last time these two will be compared.
