You see this in India, previously in Latin America such as Chile and Argentina where they “forgotten” / “incident” deaths were used to not only kill innocent people but to punish their families by denying them the knowledge of the death and persecuting their memories forever

We continue to see restrictions on information in the Punjab. The government and police forces are restricting information sharing and are pursuing their own (false) narrative of events on the ground. The environment is sadly ripe for fake encounters and other abuses
The WSO account has been withheld in India, alongside Sikh journalists and others.
This comes as censorship of Sikh voices continues amidst draconian suspension of civil rights and democratic norms in Punjab.
