Hello! 👋 I'm building – a community of developers, designers, artists, musicians, and gamers, all united by one common goal: harnessing the power of gaming to make a positive impact on the world.

@guyfactory
want to grow your X/twitter?
step 1: copy the original post, but change your handle.
step 2: wait for desperate suckers to DM you.
step 3: ???
step 4: repeat.
dont think of a product "launch" as a one time thing. you'll need to launch every new feature you release.
you must iterate on your launches. create a process, execute, learn, update, and then do it again.

Another milestone reached for
@charitydotgames
!
There is still room for improvement. Please share your favorite SEO newsletter, tools, blogs, or influencers. Anything helps.
#buil
has been growing steadily. we went from 170 unique users up to 421 unique users over the last month.
we're still in beta; the goal is to officially launch early 2024.
please roast my idea:
i want to build a non-profit video game market where independent creators auction steam keys for as little as $0.01 USD. all revenue will go to charity.
#indiedevs
can donate a few steam game keys at a time and players get awesome deals.
what do you think?
I recently finished a small update that gives people more transparency into how much has donated and to which organizations.
So far we've raised $20 for
@water

⚠️ New Game Alert! ⚠️
Plane Fly is an endless flappy bird style game. The goal of the game is to fly as far as you can without hitting any obstacles.
Check it out here:
We've just rolled out a new feature on !
Now, you can easily check out the games you've recently played. It's like having a quick access pass to all your favorites.

SEO is a lot like building credit. It takes a lot of time and it's easier the more money you have.
As you get more user's the SEO will take care of itself, they'll search up your website more, they'll post and share backlinks for you.
I just bought
#construct3
!
why did i chose it?
1. supports javascript.
2. low code approach.
3. awesome features & plugins.
i work full time and i dont have enough time to learn and implement everything myself.
im excited to create more games for !
i like to ask myself two questions:
1. would i be doing this if nobody noticed?
2. would i be doing this if everyone else was doing it?
the answers might surprise you.
@rmnjng
its a great place to start! i build all my side projects in nextjs.
my advice would be to use vercel to deploy as it really simplifies things, dont worry about vendor lock until you make something big.
Our first live stream event is happening this December 22nd.
@PapaPh4nt0m
will be playing a selection of our games from our arcade on
@Sidecade
.
During the live stream, every game played will support a bonus donation for
@Water
. More details coming soon!
@BijouConcierge
i was inspired by the layoffs.
seeing people write tons of code and then getting laid off sucked because it meant they were still producing value for the company even if they werent there anymore.
i wish devs were paid royalties.
1. Lower your instance compute size.
Compute time is calculated based on the active time of your database, multiplied by the number of CPUs available. Set your compute size to be as small as possible, or use elastic settings and autoscale to meet demands.
@mrouabehi
this is called bias, only paying customers have a real incentive to see your product succeed.
my last startup had a lot of people telling me it was a great idea but nobody opened their wallets so i shut it down.
@OmgImAlexis
@mehdi_khoudali
he's built an awesome community that has propelled me and my projects forward. and his work ethic is a source of constant inspiration.
@donaldlee50
good insight, i use
#buildinpublic
to find other like minded people, seo experts, products i could use, and interact with people.
my target audience is not on social media. :)
@Arihantdotcom
i don't think its a good idea. the people that aren't getting work probably won't bring you work to your platform.
platforms are notoriously difficult because you need buyers and sellers.
no sellers means buyers cant find product. no buyers mean sellers waste their time.
We finished redesigning our website! For those who aren't familiar with , it's a non-profit website where you can play games that donate money to charity!
Read about the redesign on our blog:
@jarekceborski
@LocalCanApp
the only thing missing is a really cheap option. so that price concious people feel like theyre getting a big deal.
thats how fast food does it.
small fries: 2.15
medium: 3.75
large: 4.00
@mjsarkarr
the rookie mistake is writing code without fully understanding the requirements.
what takes longer? UI/UX or Coding?
i'll tell you, it takes a lot longer to refactor code than to adjust a figma design doc.
@j_chang98
people are looking at it wrong.
don't compare yourself to other people. what works for other people wont work for you.
spend time finding out what works for you.
