People being almost outraged at deepseek's self-censorship about the chinese president or its historical events are insane. Put yourself in the shoes of those engineers. Either you put that censorship there, or you run the risk of having your passport seized, life in prison, or even death. Less importantly, the whole thing would be shut down entirely because it would be in breach of countless totalitarian chinese laws.

@emreloperr every second post in r/all is some dumb shit about politics, facebook-like memes that belong in 2010, or AITAH posts in the line of “poisoned 5 dogs today. Am I a bad person?” + ofc what you said. I hope you’re right

People with dogs in apartments who clearly spent no time on training so that the dog doesn't fucking bark 24/7 baffle me. Rocks for brains.

it may be the fastest ai chat app I've ever used, but where does the confidence come from to say it's the best one? no search, file uploads, custom instructions, and so on. Sure, all these features may be in the pipeline, but a pipeline is just that -- a pipeline. Yes, I know none of this is easy to build. And yes, I do genuinely hope it becomes the best AI app I've ever used. But one cannot possibly think that instantly loading a conversation (as opposed to waiting like one second in most other apps) just completely offsets whatever added value is lost in the absence of all features that most other ai apps already have

Our new app is now live! Welcome to T3 Chat, the best AI chat app you've ever used. This demo is all real time. It's actually that fast.

ah yes, discover that the company you're promoting is stealing your affiliate commissions, cut ties (good), but then dont tell any of your fellow creators for many years (bad) who are also partnered with them, and let them lose millions of dollars

@theo I actually had a decent experience with subscriptions. Got a free trial for some products and cancelled without issues. One time I also paid a regular subscription but cancelled a few days later and they refunded me the full price automatically 🤷‍♂️

I love this perspective. Too many platforms trying to optimize for doing things fast as opposed to doing them really well. For more complex queries, I’d be happy to wait even 1 hour if it basically guarantees that it finds what I want because I’d waste that one hour (likely more) on 20 fast but poor searches anyway

We shipped the slowest search engine in history, and that's why you should want it. We built Exa Websets to get you a comprehensive list of whatever you want from the web. That necessarily takes time. For every search, we deploy thousands of AI agents that recursively call Exa to scour/research the web, so that you can finally have complete knowledge of anything. "The whole web as a database" - this has been a dream for over 3 years. Amazing work by the Exa team for making another huge step.

somewhat yes. the contrast of text on the left is better, but i'd push that vignette even a little futher. font family and letter spacing is also better. part of me still feels like there's too much detail that clutters it, like the '19' near the react icon, or the '.JS' to the right of 'next'. if it's important, I'd highlight it more; if it's not, I'd hide it. maybe I'd also emphasize some features in the final product screenshot on the right more and hide some other ones. hardly anyone will probably notice that toolbar or grid ruler

every time i remove a song from the 'liked' playlist on spotify, it very soon appears in the 'smart shuffle' playlist again. hello? what an embarrassment for a company with so many PMs and engineers. do these people never use their own product?

So many people who dont live in eastern/central europe do not understand this. Yes, a haircut in Belgium is expensive as fuck, but groceries in Lidl cost the same there as in Slovakia, where avg income is 3x lower

@mmjukic Wages are 3x higher in west, even though the living standard is 3x more expensive that's just the services. Groceries, technology, cars are the same price and often even cheaper in the west up to 30%.. it's just not comparable

The command palette in vs code is one of the best inventions because I swear to god no other piece of software has this feature implemented in a way as robust and functional as in vsc
