I always found it ridiculous that all regions in Nigeria follow the same time zone, especially since the sun rises almost an hour earlier in the east than in the west. Come to find out that even though Nigeria spans longitudes 2.7°E to 14.6°E, for administrative and economic convenience, our colonial masters decided we’d all follow one time zone (UTC+1, West Africa Time) and since then we've been stuck with it. Every time you accept something as fact, remember—it was once just a decision made by someone in power, somewhere in time, that became the norm.
