So today I found out I still have an outstanding of RM0.01 left for my car loan.
The bank needs me to pay that 1 sen before I can proceed with cancelling bank's claim on the car.
And I can't make online transfer of 1 sen because it is below the minimum transfer amount.
Chatted with a Malaysian couple who have just bought a house in NZ. They told me they have not told their parents yet, fearing that the parents would be upset that they're moving permanently.
This couple is 60 years old 😅
Btw for those seeking jobs in NZ, be extra cautious about working with Malaysian-owned businesses, some of them are known to prefer Malaysians sbb... you know... boleh tekan mcm dekat Malaysia 🙂
@JatIkhwan
My best memory of flying with MAS is when a flight attendant sat at the empty seat opposite the aisle and entertained my little girl for a moment, in a genuine embrace.
Recently I bumped into a Malaysian Indian aunty and uncle at a restaurant here in NZ. We spoke in English first, then slowly changed to Malay. As I was leaving, they said:
"Bila hari2 kena cakap Bahasa Inggeris, jadi satu kelegaan, satu kepuasan dapat cakap Melayu dekat sini."
If you guys have not been updated, New Zealand, which had been able to stamp out Covid-19 for two years, is now reporting 14,657 daily Covid-19 cases today. Total active cases now stands at 82,433.
For those who are hesitant about making the jump, understand that New Zealand's Permanent Residence visa has no expiry, once you obtain it. Say after 3 years keje NZ rasa boring nak balik keje dkt Malaysia, and then nak datang balik 10 years later, you still have PR status.
One month since returning to KL, I am beginning to feel redha (read: zombified) living with traffic jam. Here is a list of traffic jam benefits I could think of while being stuck in one:
This is my second month being debt-free after having paid off my car in February. Frankly, it feels like I have just gotten a job promotion with a pay raise of RM923 😂
So liberating I ain't going to ever buy another car on loan ever again
The most difficult piece I had ever written.
Covid-19 took my dad away last Monday, turning my family's life upside down in a blink of an eye.
Sharing my pain to wake people up. Covid-19 is real, and it is much closer to you than you think.

I felt the bank is really screwing me up, so I thought about screwing them back.
I transferred RM1.
Hahah! Now the bank can remove its claim on my car and owes me 99 cents instead. Good luck with processing that! I laughed inside.
But...
Sorry not sorry but Sheikh Muszaphar Shukor was such a trash pick. It was really obvious why he won, and it certainly wasn't because of merit or ability.
The whole Angkasawan program was a joke.
From 11.59pm 1st May 2022 onwards, vaccinated Malaysians can travel to New Zealand. Here's a a short checklist for a smooth travel preparation after booking your flight ticket:

In all honesty they're all really talented and naturally gifted. With the right coach, the right support system, and the right environment, I think they can become great comedians.
If you know of anyone/family within Selangor who is in desperate situation for a shelter during MCO, I have a house. Its probably quite dusty now, but it's a shelter from worse circumstances they might have to go through. I'll find someone to clean if sempat. DM me.

I remember watching Apple unveiled it's latest Apple Watch last year featuring Blood Oxygen app and I silently thought "why would anyone want to monitor how much oxygen they have in the blood?"
Now its almost a necessity 😳
Understand that Jacinda Ardern's party is Labour Party, formed by trade unionists and socialists with a focus to attain a more just society. Pro-capitalism but bent on ensuring wealth generation is distributed fairly to society. Hence this!
New Zealand bakal meningkatkan gaji minimum dari $18.90 sejam kepada $20.00 ( RM58 ) sejam bermula esok
170,000 orang pekerja dijangka bakal menerima manfaat dari kenaikkan gaji minimum ini
3. Traffic jam gives me a ‘Me Time’
No boss. No colleagues. No pressure to please or be responsible to anyone. Just me, my terrible singing, and other zombified people in their cars who wouldn’t give a damn. Blissful.

Hi Alya, stop looking already cuz I've the perfect soulmate for your sister. This is my buddy, a fellow diplomat, in his 30s, very low key, tall, dark, not as handsome as me but more aumm roar. His sister is getting married next month so pretty much same situation. Let's DM!

This girl took it to Twitter because of one important issue that has been neglected in the world of travel since forever - the absence of clear process to appeal against decisions made by border authorities. In effect, they have almost absolute power over travelers

He speaks the truth. Duduk oversea ok je makan sandwich for lunch. Balik Malaysia rasa nak mati makan sandwich sambil kiri kanan laksa, nasi goreng, lauk campur, briyani, ayam masak merah
Of this number, only 344 are being hospitalised, with 5 in ICU.
NZ data currently shows that unvaccinated people are four times over-represented among those hospitalised.
Never bored to say this: Vaccine works.
5. Traffic jam supports the radio economy
I think radio stations would have been long dead without traffic jam forcing us to turn on the radio button in the car. Nobody listens to the radio other than traffic jammers. I hope radio stations recognise traffic jam’s contribution.
1. Traffic jam helps me sleep early every night.
I used to sleep around midnight before, but thanks to our traffic jam that’s so exhausting to go through, I now can’t open my eyes after 10pm. I’m an early sleeper now, yay 🙃 Thank you, traffic jam.
I'm saying this just after hearing about this one Malaysian-owned clinic yang trying to make this one Malaysian doctor's life difficult. Poor chap had a wonderful life for almost a decade before working there.

Tujuan dia supaya orang tak spend time dlm kedai beli barang2 yg dikategorikan non-essential. Less time spent membeli-belah = lower risk of Covid-19 transmission. Countries macam Canada apply this similar method (and ramai org komplen jugak😅). Just to share
Surprised to see unauthorised transactions for Facebook Ads amounting RM4,398 charged to my credit card.
No sms alert on these big transactions, so I didn’t realise until I check the record in MAE app.
I'm not sure which one is scarier, old people believing everything they listen in mainstream media, or young people believing everything they read on social media.
Adult life is really just about struggling to attain a more comfortable life while trying to enjoy life and taking care of other lives in the present moment.
Maybe the whole program was a joke to you. Because you only see the tangible and ignores the intangible.
What's the cost of inspiring the national psyche, the 'soul' of the nation, to have a can-do attitude and interest in STEM?
We can argue until the cows come home about whether or not the program was a waste of taxpayers money, but many have pointed out that the bulk of the cost was funded by the Russian through an off-set agreement. On the scale of things, we paid peanuts to send a Malaysian to space.
2. Traffic jam helps me get going super early.
The dread of getting stuck in a massive morning rush hour traffic means I am out on the road by 6.30am.
Wise men say early birds get the worm. I guess I am living up to this wise words. Yay again.
@luxentX
This is how it was like in medieval times - People made rash judgment about someone and in the next minute that person is already being burned at the stake or hanged, all the while being jeered at.
We’ve only become digitally sophisticated at doing that same regressive action.
@fifarahman
Pretty much the issue here. Reminds me about some friends in their early 30s who still had curfews and I thought that's just insane, those are full grown adult women there 🤦
An Engineer, but won't cross the bridge.
A Banker, but won't save in the bank.
A Lawyer, but won't uphold the rule of law.
A Doctor, but won't take the vaccine.
If you can't trust the product integral to your chosen profession, maybe you shouldn't be in that profession.
4. Traffic jam reduces my electricity bill
Imagine the additional amount of electricity we’ll be using if we arrive early at home or go out late because there’s no traffic jam.
Since realising this, I prayed the traffic jam will be longer every time I clock out from office

Gifted this book by someone dear to me. A paragraph in the foreword says:
"If we commit to loving, we will inevitably know loss and grief. If we try to avoid loss and grief, we will never truly love."

My mom lost her partner of 50 years while she herself was positive Covid-19. She went through intense grieving alone for days without a single hug from family members (as she was in quarantine). She tested -ve two days ago and is now in good spirits. She's really super strong.
PM Mahathir will never step in again as PM. TS Muhyiddin Yasin will become the 8th PM. The new political alliance will win the next GE. KJ will be made PM before 2040. I will finish my thesis by 2022.

Claim: Selection was based on public voting
Truth: 6 screening stages were held to shortlist candidates from the 11000+ applicants. These involved physical fitness test, health, psychiatric and psychology screening.
8 shortlisted candidates underwent panel selection
I saved this one as I knew my dad made up the statistics on 17 May; among the 45 people who left that day. People sometimes miss this number, focusing more on the bigger and scarier looking new cases.
But it really is this small number that is most painful to be part of
Buka puasa dkt masjid. Ramai yg boleh berbahasa Melayu sbb pernah tinggal dkt Malaysia 12, 20 tahun, sebelum settle down dkt NZ.
Favourite tagline bila diorg nampak Melayu: "Malaysia Boleh!"

Kerajaan tak decide basic gaji (except min wage), syarikat yg tentukan. Syarikat based on salary market, and market ikut supply and demand.
Tanggungjawab Kerajaan is to create market condition where companies are forced to increase salary by changing the supply/demand ratio.

Hang on. So me traveling from a country with an almost zero Covid-19 case country-wide have to pay RM2100 and undergo 14-day quarantine despite negative test, while you guys coming from a state with significantly higher numbers can walk free if tested negative?
Just great.
Great philosophers have asked questions like:
(1) "how do we know what we know?"
(2) "what is truth?"
'Stupid questions' are actually 'fundamental questions'. Real intellects love and celebrate fundamental questions.
“Tolong jangan tanya soalan bodoh.”
60 people have just experienced DEATH.
726 people are experiencing intense PHYSICAL PAIN, right now.
786 FAMILIES are experiencing intense EMOTIONAL PAIN, right now.
This is how I see these numbers. How we all should see these numbers.

Quite a handful of self-proclaimed feminists are just misandrists hiding behind feminism. It's tarnishing all the good work.
Misandrists should be called out just as much as mysogynists.
Woke up with this tweet blown. I don't have cakes to sell or Shopee links to suggest but I tweet tips about traveling and living abroad maybe like about twice a year so follow me they could be useful 🥵
Anyone calling a bilateral defense meeting with China as 'jumpa komunis' either don't know anything about international relations to know its a normal affair, or know too much about domestic politics to consciously frame it negatively for political reasons.
For people who are qualified, it is a no-brainer to consider migrating to NZ, at least until get your PR status. Once you do that your options become wider, and you have greater flexibility to decide your future life since you now have easy access to job markets in two countries.
Imagine living in a country in year 2020 where the Government can announce its new Cabinet lineup sitting shoulder-to-shoulder without facemask and NOT drawing ire of the public because they successfully managed the pandemic.
Been observing the life cycle of a Monarch butterfly throughout this Covid-19 period. All caterpillars went into 'lockdown' (pupa phase) before they gain complete freedom as a free flying butterfly. That's worth reflecting upon.
Few months ago I saw an old man with his friends sipping tea at ioi city mall who looked exactly like my late dad, with the same jovial demeanour. I know that’s not him, but seeing a resemblance of him in an animated conversation affected me emotionally.
