All UK healthcare providers, including and especially the NHS, must be Equality Act compliant. A healthcare policy which omits the protected characteristic of Sex is not worth the paper it’s written on.
Last year, a London hospital cancelled a woman's life-saving operation at the last minute because it didn't 'share her values' after she said she wanted her aftercare nurses to be female. There's now been a major and brilliant development 1/4

I had a life-saving operation cancelled for the same reason. Thankfully the private hospital saw sense and changed policy.

I had an argument with a male manager in Oxford Street John Lewis about this. JL lets men self-ID into the changing rooms in the ladies’ clothes section. Women customers had no idea that they were entering what is in effect a mixed sex space. 1/

‘Trans men’ who are not chemically enhanced are allowed to compete in women’s sport. This is not an anti-trans policy, it’s a policy that prevents males from enjoying an unfair physical advantage over women in sport.

Yes. It is Queen Alexander Hospital in Portsmouth. They would not supply the info. I went to Hampshire police. The request was initially refused. On internal review, I threatened to escalate to the Information Commissioner, and they gave me the info.

Assume his employer refuses to implement the EqA single sex exception. Like the NHS does.

There is another solution. We’ve got a single-sex exemption available for service providers in the UK Equality Act. It was designed specifically for situations like this.
Problem is, it’s not mandatory.

It is. The NHS Delivering Single Sex Accommodation policy makes it compulsory that women are placed on single sex wards. Annex B allows any male to self-ID at whim onto these wards. This trans-enabling policy enables predatory men.

Any NHS worker who places a male in a bed next to a disabled woman is in breach of the EqA 2010 (discrimination - protected categories of Disabled + Sex) and also the HSC Act 2008 (Regulations, 2014) + the CQC Fundamental Standards of Care.
