Hell, this one is definitely a stretch but body temperature. Like this is my dumb understanding, but the body basically does chemical burns to maintain the heat. You can just use that to at least cause the body to overheat subtly.

Honestly, it's not the worst armor mistake I've seen. Watched one of the tournaments online, and one of the Japanese team had the pauldrons on wrong. They caught it before anything happened but still going to an actual fight with blunt swords and other weapons worse than this.

What gets me is they have a series that basically does this (I'll be it not to the point of halo) already. Clone Wars, you can tell the emotions of the clones when they are in combat (with their helmets on). I get it's not a perfect example, but it is an example of that on TV.
