Year 2 have LOVED watching some of ‘The Great British Dig’ and to see our school on tv! We were very excited to see what the team had found on our school field!
Y5 OEC Visit
Huge thanks to the dedicated teachers & teacher assistants who gave up precious time with their families to stay away for 3 days and 2 nights at the OEC to enable nearly 90 children to have this experience. We are very grateful! ❤️
Year 5 have arrived safely at Standon Bowers. We have had our lunch and are out enjoying our outdoor activities. First up for two groups was the blindfold trail….

Rise and shine at Standon Bowers
Wakey wakey for staff and children. Wash, brush teeth, tidy dormitory and then down for a cooked breakfast, cereal, fruit - whatever the children want to fill their tummies ready for the day of activities ahead.
Congratulations to the Y4 Footballer’s that took part in a competition on St George’s Park yesterday. They won every game, scoring a massive 22 goals! Well done boys. ⚽️
2B have made an amazing video in response to our recent rainbow video. Thank you children, it is lovely to see you all and thank you parents for the vital ‘behind the scenes’ work! Tissues at the ready....
After nagging Mr Heald for weeks, today class 1B went to check on the ‘doughnut seeds’ they’d planted in April 1st(🤦🏼♂️)
Amazingly, enough doughnuts had grown for everyone in the class to enjoy with a few stories outside in the sunshine!

Well done to all our children in Y3 and Y4 who took part in a Hockey tournament on Friday. This was some of the children’s first ever tournament for William Shrewsbury and they made us very proud. 🏑

Y5/6 kayaking event
24 children represented the school. Amazingly good sports towards other teams. Clean sweep for team WS. 1st, 2nd & 3rd, as well as all of the indivdual medals! Never happened before. Such determination and effort. Records broken! So proud!

Y5 OEC visit
We’re very proud of all of the children for spending 3 days away from home. Great team work and resilience. Caring & considerate. Funny and determined. Respectful too. SB staff complemented the children for their values.
Fantastic to meet our friends at Footprints orphanage in Kenya this morning. We zoomed in live and shared information about our lives in England and Kenya. It was really uplifting to speak to each other for the first time. We look forward to meeting them again soon.
What a brilliant Easter Bonnet parade this afternoon! Well done to all the children and their parents for the fantastic work they have put in. Happy Easter!

Staffordshire County cross country finals
16 children from years 4 to 6 took part in races between 600m & 1600m.
All tried their very best in very warm temperatures.
All gave support to athletes from our school and other schools. Very proud of our WS athletes
A huge congratulations to our Y5/6 hockey team who were joint winners with Rykneld Primary school in our annual Dove Valley hockey tournament. Well done everyone 🥇😆
Everyone in our William Shrewsbury family is equally important: children, teachers, parents and support staff and we all fit together to make our school work, now as always. This jigsaw has been put together by Year 6 to represent this and show everything that is important to us.
Year five run for Footprints.
Children in year 5 ran for half an hour and managed to run an unbelievable 150miles combined to help raise funds for Footprints orphanage. What an incredible achievement! Well done everyone, we’re very proud of you.
