I don't know if it's cringey or whatever to tweet about your acceptances, but I just got one from the The Florida Review and am super excited about it.
Woke up in the middle of the night with a story idea. In a haze, I wrote it down in my notes app. Checked it this morning. All it said was outerspace water slide.
Every time I feel lonely, I log into Submittable and scroll down to my 2019 in-progress submission and whisper: "Thanks for always being there, buddy."
That feeling when you receive an acceptance from one of your dream journals after a string of 20ish rejections from them. A great way to start a Sunday.
We are so excited to announce the finalists for our 2023-2024 Jeanne Leiby Memorial Chapbook Award! Congratulations🎉

I was drinking a Fresca on my lunch break and scrolling through my emails only to notice an acceptance from one of my all-time favorite journals,
@PassagesNorth
. Easily one of my top 3 lunch breaks.
When I first started seriously submitting, I used to dream about how cool it would be to have a piece in
@PassagesNorth
. Today, I do. Check out my latest flash about a mugger, a deadbeat dad, and a piano recital.
Honored to have two stories on the longlist: "Demolition" in
@IdentityTheory
and "My Brother the Venus Flytrap" in
@VariantLit
. Congrats to everyone else on the longlist and the top 50. A special thanks to all the editors and readers.

Easy feedback method: Whenever you get a spam call, answer. And when they ask about your car warranty or whatever say, "Can I read you a story I've written first?"
I have a new micro in
@CincinnReview
. It's about grief and sitcom laugh tracks. Check it out and thanks to all the amazing editors at The Cincinnati Review. ✨️
Awesome. My story "Scavenger Hunt" in
@LigeiaMag
made the longlist. Congrats to everyone on the longlist and top 50. And a special congrats to all the editors and readers, too.

submission call like someone in a romcom dashing through an airport trying to stop someone else from getting on a plane.
Called my dad for Father's Day. Told him about a few rejections I've gotten lately. He said he was going to launch Proud Papa Literary Review to accept them all. Happy Father's Day!
💀 I have a new story about cable installers, surfing, and getting fired in

At 4 a.m. last night, I wrote down a story idea while loopy on sleep meds. Checked my notes app this morning, and it said, "Story in the shape of a crazy straw?"
If one in-progress submission set off three months ago at 95 miles per hour, and another in-progress submission set off two weeks ago at 115 miles an hour, which will be rejected first?

Just had to explain to everyone in the office how awesome
@hexliterary
is after shouting sweet when I received an acceptance from them for my evil twin story.
