I felt the same way. Nemec is a young defenseman w/ projections for above average offense, great skating, & plus defense. To develop that game, he shouldnât be deployed as a top pairing guy yet, & Keefe knows that. A 3rd pair role, w/ sheltered minutes, is right for his growth.
#NJDevils Simon Nemec had a much stronger game in MTL. He logged 19:44 TOI. Although not perfect, played a sound game. That's what the team needs from him. Have to hope game vs. VGK was an outlier...entering the lineup with hefty expectations. Perhaps some nerves/overthinking.

@jkamckenzie @reporterchris @sdpnsports Aside from the magical run the Capitals are on, is the Metro division weaker than previous years? Devils & Canes both seem to be hot and cold, while the Rangers & Islanders are fighting to sniff the second wild card in the East. Still put the Panthers as the Eastern favorite?
