I don't think applicants even know how many positions are available in the specialty they are applying to. It’s not their fault b/c it’s conveniently hidden from them. Applicants are charged by AAMC the # of residency programs they apply to, and FM only has 773 programs.

ERAS is designed with filters, and residency programs choose which filters to enable. AAMC should remove filters that have the potential to add to “unconscious bias..” (age, race, gender, citizenship, usmle step 1 pass/fail filters)
