If you have a Dolby Vision ready TV or display, you really aught to subscribe to 4K UNIVERSAL TV on YouTube. Hands down the best ambient videos (and more) from
@UniversalORL
. Just mind blowing how amazing they are. Also has 3D Dolby Audio videos. So cool.
I noticed in the POV video that the boats backed up before every single drop (minus the first one) and a few other places. My guess is they screwed with the block zones for some reason and the ride keeps setting itself up (ie: the block zones get violated and the ride e-stops).
Tiana's Bayou Adventure has done several "in show exits" today. The ride keeps breaking down and guests must be escorted off by cast members (with worklights on).
Credit to a channel called Farmeritaville for this footage that confirms what I was hearing.
I believe this to be the case because it seems almost ALL of the show scenes are on some sort of trigger for when a log passes by instead of being on a constant loop so people don't arrive halfway through narration. Thus the logs need to be paced to get the intended experience.
So it seems my theory about sensors tripping and block zone violations leading to ride setups was spot on.
I'd like to thank my 10+ years in park operations and
@ElToroRyan
for educating myself and others on block zones and how they work.
@wdwpro1
The ride computers and sensors are all-new, they're still developing protocols. Imagineering didn't have adequate time to test the system before having the place get flooded with guests. Not to mention there are new mechanical issues too. Now we're on day 3 of evac extravaganza!
@disneytipsguy
Constantly. I don't think I could do it these days. Late nights when the parks are super empty is a different vibe. Hate that you have to pay for the experience now.
It also dawned on me that IF this is the case that the ride would have severely reduced capacity compared to SM, which had little to no backup at the lifts. If they're trying to run SM amounts of logs on a system that inherently handles much less, setups would happen constantly.
This could easily be alleviated by running everything on a loop, narrative be damned, and only pacing logs when necessary to avoid block zone violations like with the original ride. Risk being the narrative becomes even more incoherent than it already is unless they change it.
I hate this trend towards hardwood floors in hotels, especially if it extends into bedrooms where it serves the purpose of dampening noise.
The rest of it is giving beige mom vibes. Overall, nice but not really my taste. Still prefer Kidani Village or the older Poly rooms.
NEW: Disney shared a first look inside the guest rooms at the upcoming Island Tower addition at Disney’s Polynesian Villas & Bungalows. Disney also announced the hotel is set to open on Dec. 17, 2024.
@EatingDisney81
It should have been Matt Ouimet but he got screwed over and left and eventually became CEO of Cedar Fair and revitalized their parks and brand after Dick Kinzel ran it into the ground.
Hello, I'd also like one lawsuit for sharing this

Anyone claiming it violates HIPAA or requires PHI is a big fat liar. We submitted letters from the docs outlining what hubby could and could not do (without divulging PHI) and were approved without hassle. Besides waiting, it's seamless and only has to be redone every 12 months.

Universal built a world-class rollercoaster and has nearly completed one of the largest theme parks ever built in what was a barren tract of land only three years ago.
No one buys the "but, but the PaNdEmIc!!" excuse anymore.
It's gonna be a rough day. Our appointment for our special needs kitty Leo to cross the rainbow bridge is at 2. I've been a mess since last night. It's crazy how fast he went downhill. Cherish your pets because having to make this decision always sucks.
Test runs of the Donkey Kong ride in Super Nintendo World at Universal Studios Japan are now underway! Here you can see some of its features like the false track and the barrel blast!
@jake_coasters
That's one incident away of the raft ring getting caught in those HUGE gaps and flipping before that type of element is never seen again.
@jake_coasters
They really need to get away from the Apple style vertical integration. The parks really should be run as their own separate company like Comcast does with Universal Parks and Destinations. Still a subsidiary, but it isn't treated as being in the same pipeline as everything else.

Don't forget the disabled. Have had so many people straight up ignore my husband asking to sit on Disney transportation until he got his wheelchair.
Yoshi P (no one uses his actual name 💅🏻) and his team at Creative Business Unit 3 are the best choice to create a Final Fantasy Tactics sequel. I wouldn't trust any Ivalice based game to be made by any of the other SE units, IJS.
It's absolute bullshit that Shades of Green is not being offered this perk. So much for being treated like every other deluxe resort guest. Disney is doing everything in their power to take away benefits from military families.
All guests must be on the reservation in order to receive the benefit. This includes room-only and DVC stays — no minimum length of stay. Eligible hotels:

@ElToroRyan
That's crazy. Water level should be

priority. I get upgrading the system since it was three decades old. You'd think they'd try to mimic it with new equipment as closely as they could. We never had problems as big as these when upgrading ride systems at the parks I've worked.
A moment of nighttime balcony zen for y'all. 15 foot swells tonight and a nice gentle rocking starboard to larboard that'll make it easy to fall asleep.
Disney content creators: get a dang handle on your audience and followers. When they resort to threats over DMs and bullying in threads and you don't say a thing:
YOU'RE CONDONING IT.
@BrerOswald
Influencers were trained by corporations to clap like seals in exchange for media access and "freebies". The age of the critical fan died when bloggers, vloggers, and social media took over dedicated forums.
Villains land should have the Hollow Bastion castle as the weenie. Disney could totally get away with tying it in to Kingdom Hearts and put a huge KH themed ride inside of it.
@BrerOswald
100% modern performative lawfare. If Disney really cared about its 1A rights, they would still be pushing the lawsuit. They had a really good chance of their lawsuit going all the way to SCOTUS and overturning Citizens United so probably why they took the chance to get out of it.
Last night, 39-year-old composer Ludwig Göransson won his second Academy Award for his score to ‘Oppenheimer’. In a heartfelt speech, he thanked his parents for giving him his foundation in music.

Holy Christ! As of May 29, 2024, the Shingle Creek Transit & Utility Community Development District (Universal's CFTOD) has 2,000 acres of planned development around, and including, Epic Universe.
I'll always remember being a young child and, before our first trip to WDW, daydreaming about going through that tunnel and what was on the other side. I thought it was •literally• the coolest thing ever.
I'd been chasing an interview with Remo Saraceni, the artist responsible for EPCOT's rainbow tunnel for several years. We finally connected & 3 days ago was told if I wanted to speak to him time was short so I made the trip on Friday. Remo passed away a few hours ago. 1/2
@ThemePark
I think Zamperla deserves more of the credit for taking on the project in the first place and proving they can do more than carnival rides and portable coasters.
Just to set the record straight, I've never been banned from Twitter/X 😘 I did restart my account because my previous handle was having serious issues with usability and premium account features/billing tied to when I was still on iOS and paid via Apple Pay.
@LittleManfish3
I thought it was well known Eisner wanted a thrill ride in Disneyland that appealed to teens and adults? The same exact line of thinking that Walt had with the Matterhorn.
@BrerOswald
Move Magic Kingdom drive all the way left against that retention pond and utilize that area as well. You'd have a minor pinch point but a Fantasyland style dark ride could fit there. Maybe two.
Just got Leo's memorial put together on the mantle. Had to take down some Disney collectibles because we're out of room to dusplay anything. OH WELL, LOL

There's only one person on Earth I trust with park rumors, and that's Alicia Stella because I can't remember the last time that she was 100% wrong about something .

They need to redo the outside track and make it go faster. Every single person on that ride drove faster to get to Epcot than what's reached on the ride.
My brother didn't believe me when I told him TDR was a time capsule to the Disney of our youth until he got on Pirates and saw that it was completely untouched. He said the nostalgia has been emotionally overwhelming.
Going to the range with Giselle and the husband because I have a life and better things to do than worry about what randos on the internet think of me.
A true evolution of Soarin'. Slightly higher thrill level, though, so be warned if you think Soarin' is too much. It's pay per ride but definitely worth at least one ride every time we're in Pigeon Forge.
Disney is leaving so much money on the table by not selling these or Duffy bear in the States, IJS. I'd seriously consider planning a trip just to buy WDW ride vehicles.
@chazfinder
Reminds me of all the videos where someone wears traditional kimono and the comments are all white Americans screaming about cultural appropriation and then it's followed up by several videos of Japanese natives actively encouraging people to wear traditional kimono lol
For the love of Christ don't smoke pot when the ship is trying to leave port. Not only does everyone on our deck have contact highs now the Dutch police are going room to room and rummaging through everyone's stuff and we're delayed leaving LOL. It reeks so bad even in the hall.
Nuclear has been the future and has been our answer to clean energy since before I was even born. Crazy people way back when fear mongered to make it almost impossible to build to prop up the oil and coal industries and the stigma still exists today. Proud of my state for Vogtle!

Settle a debate for my wife and I...I want to book at time at Hollywood Brown Derby just to eat desserts. She says that is unfair to the serving staff.
Thoughts?
@TommyMacklin1
I wonder what the Kao Corporation thinks about this since they sponsor the ride. TDR is old school and relies on corporate sponsorships to keep costs down for the guests. They risk losing a sponsor that may not support a different ride or theme.
People. Universal employs 28k people for its day to day operations. Even if we cut that down to 1/4 of that number and use the base pay of $17/hour, UOR would need to spend $357k per day in wages alone to keep the parks open from 7-10PM. Actual numbers are likely much higher.
The fight between 500 kids STARTED in your park,
@SixFlagsOverGA
. You don't get to absolve yourselves of responsibility like you're trying to. A chaperone policy should have happened years ago along with price increases so people don't use SFoG as daycare.

That article is a bunch of boomer BS lol. They don't fly, as babies they do the Charlotte's Web thing, and their fangs are too small to pierce human skin and they're so skittish they run if you even get close to them or disturb their web.
This pushback is why RCID needed to go. It's fishy to me that DLR, for decades, has always met intense pushback from Anaheim locals and officials, but now Anaheim is suddenly on board giving Disney everything they ask for regardless of the residents. Sus.
