@wolfr_2 yeah for sure, I think your process is super interesting! I do wonder how Figma is going to navigate this transition to AI, maybe they do well and your design can get translated into production level code🤷‍♀️ tall request tho

Loved this piece by @davidhoang where he articulated some things we've also been talking about on the team - How do you balance low barrier to entry vs. hitting a ceiling quickly bc of the abstractions in no-code design tools? I think AI can def help with achieving this, but we need tools that enable people to prompt in a way that feels natural for visual mediums and speeds up iteration loops.

Lots of conversations around what will happen to design tools and developer tools with AI. I've held a long belief that the tools will converge. I've called it the IDDE. The atomic unit for creating software is tooling. It might be a utility or integrated environment.

@nikitabier totally agreed, being focused on solving one problem well is harder (but well worth it) than getting distracted and doing 10 things ok-ish

This sprint's theme: How do you design AI to be less of a black box? Internally, we’ve been working on features in Sidekick to help users understand why it behaves a certain way (more on this later). It’s a tricky thing to balance. If you overdo it, it’s just noise. But if you do it right, then you can earn the trust of users instead of feeling like they’re interacting with a black box. At @bezi_ai, we want to build a product that makes AI feel less like magic, and more like second nature. Curious to hear from others—how could we design for transparency without adding unnecessary noise or complexity?

We just released a new deep dive on why indie games are capturing our hearts more than ever before! The Indie Renaissance, written by our resident game designer @macytopn, explores how small teams and solo devs are changing the game (pun intended): • Indie advantages: authenticity, unrestrained creativity, and heart • Personal dev-player relationships driving unforgettable experiences • Platforms enabling small teams in building & distribution (@godotengine, @GameMakerEngine, @Steam) • New game dev technology leveling the playing field

Building AI products is messy. A lot of the times, it feels like you’re navigating through thick fog—until you hit one of those breakthrough moments where the fog clears and you think, “Whoa! It can do that?!” Lately, those moments have been happening more often, and it’s really exciting to see what’s possible. I’m no Unity expert, but I’ve been able to do things I haven’t been able to do before like generating scripts and attaching them, understanding how scripts work, setting up physics, and more using just natural language in Sidekick. Sometimes it takes iteration to get to what you want but I think it’s just a part of the process when working with AI. Feeling very lucky to work with an amazing group of people @bezi_ai who are constantly experimenting, learning from failures, and iterating to build something truly impactful.

One thing I’ve noticed while exploring more AI apps is that input modalities and context seeding are becoming essential levers for giving users finer control over their prompts. Without getting these right, users quickly hit limitations and face frustration. @meetgranola is a great example of getting it right - they’ve nailed the primary input modalities (live voice input AND manual notes that the user takes during the meeting) + a secondary chat interface for asking your transcriptions/notes questions. I’m curious to see how they might expand their context seeding. Maybe they'll allow attachments (ex. pre-reads or decks), or even meeting screenshares in the future?
