You see when I googled and saw there were as many as 201 bands across the entire island, I just hold a proper seat. It’s not called the Mecca for no reason.
Not knowing it’s hundreds of bands not just in Port Of Spain, but in Arima, Tunapuna, Chaguanas, Couva, San Fernando, Port Fortin and Tobago.
And these smaller carnivals in these areas are probably what u can compare your carnival to if we being honest.

I don’t think we ever get over it. In Jamaica I’ve seen very little bereavement exercises for health care workers. But I do see how it breaks us. But for me, I sit with myself and ask if I did all I can and I try to improve going forward and I cry. I’ve cried a lot.

I’m really concerned about the credibility and accuracy of the news we receive in Jamaica. Everyone can’t be rushing to be the first to put out news and then it turns out to be misinformation because you didn’t wait to check the facts.

1.5 hours shy of 36 hours I worked you nuh!
Me still up at 5 cause otherwise me wouldn’t have no work clothes to wear tomorrow you nuh!

2 ancillary staff just came to me about their concerns about the vaccines and I was able to explain some things and tell them I would get back to them on some other things. Colleagues, I think we are going to be the ones to help convince the masses. More reading tonight for me.

Not sure what the interaction was but we all can be kinder to one another. And sometimes we as doctors need to step away from these frustrating situations and gather ourselves. Cause no matter what people are going to blame us.

It’s super hard to make friends as an adult. Everyone is so guarded, because we’ve all been hurt in some way and people can be weird. But I keep trying
Our sense of community is diminishing more and more and this is the result. And it’s actually crazy whenever adults talk about the struggles of making friends, people on here in particular get so damn weird

What healthy food choices are you guys making during the season? It’s so difficult with the merry making. For me, I’m essentially cutting carbs in other meals to compensate and increasing protein and veggies. Need to up my cardio too, cause this carnival body has to be made!

The part about health care workers samples being done first is no longer true. I’ve been waiting for 5 days for a rapid and pcr. I’m on duty tomorrow and still can’t get my results. I’ve been told it’s now the norm for health care worker samples to come back late.
