#Facts: Adult coaches hide behind computer screens now and screw other kids now, because they try to stick it to another adult coach. It’s something coaches talk about all the time. Again, it’s not the kids - it’s the adults. #IHSA
One of my favorite things years ago when there were still in-person hoop seeding meetings was coaches calling in the seeds so we could run them in the Thursday paper and sharing stories of who was mad and who oversold their teams. A lot of coaches still wish they met in person.

Last week, Josh Allen out of Firebaugh HS in California - who played junior college - won the #NFL #MVP Award. Despite his elite status as #Bills QB, Josh’s everyday humbleness showed again as he made sure to thank those who truly do so much day l-in and day-out for players and families. Always remember to say #ThankYOU. Those two words said from one human to another can truly make a difference, as you can see from #SlickRick.

#DYK: Former Lyons kicker Jake Elliott is now the most accurate kicker in #NFL #SuperBowl history. Elliott recorded 16 points during the Eagles’ win on Sunday by going 4 for 4 on field goals and also adding four extra points. The former longtime tennis player is 9 of 9 in his Super Bowl career and now owns the record of most field goal attempts without a miss. By hitting those four field goals in Super Bowl LIX, it ties Elliott for the most in a single-game in Super Bowl history. He also is tied for nine total field goals in Super Bowl history. #IHSA

Now, some may play with the line, “We decided to use Lincoln’s birthday as the holiday and didn’t want the off day to be the middle of the week, so we made it a three-day weekend for families and college visits.” That’s a good spin job, but no. JUST BE HONEST. There is a high call off rate of adults inside schools on the Monday after the Super Bowl, because we live in a system where you just pick up the phone and say: I need a sub today. As I said earlier: Most would love to have the Monday after the Super Bowl off. Many would love to see the Super Bowl played on a Saturday night, especially with a bye week between playoff weeks. Just don’t crap everyone by saying you’re observing President’s Day a week earlier, just because you want to give the day after the Super Bowl off. What’s next: Moving Easter to the day after the South Side Irish Parade or St. Patrick’s Day? JUST BE HONEST. #IHSA

🧵🚨HUGE NEWS🚨 FOR ILLINOIS SOCCER PLAYERS! ⚽️Last year, I couldn't play high school soccer because my team was in the @GAcademyLeague Champions Cup and I missed the high school cutoff by 3 days. An appeal to @IHSA_IL was declined so I spent the year as team manager and missed out on H.S. soccer. I had to switch out of the Girls Academy to the ECNL to be able to accommodate High School play. The amazing Illinois State Representative @jyangrohr saw my story and heard about other high school athletes who are prevented from the right to play high school sports because of an overlap with club sports and she has done something about it. Representative Rohr just introduced the ILLINOIS RIGHT TO PLAY ACT. WE NEED YOUR HELP!
