@harveyjscott yeah, agreed our system is broken and need an overhaul. was trying to isolate to just the job aspect of the discussion. the tweet i was responding to seemed to think that immigration is bad for our economy/job situation.

@swarley75042565 Per chatgpt, don't think much of the jobs illegals are taking are things people are going to trade schools for.

@Moroni87 like this framing. agree on 3 of 4 points (construction and produce prices low, compete for housing) , question the competition on jobs though. need to do more of my own research there though.

great breakdown. haven't watched the video yet, but will. agree 100% on skilled labor. housing is a great point on the low skilled labor front, but want to see the data on low skilled labor jobs not being available to those that want them. everything I've read doesn't seem to support that. housing could be a large enough factor to offset any positive benefits of filling jobs that need to be filled that aren't otherwise being filled by native-born americans.

@Jowanza Yeah, great point. We’re early on all this. This next chapter of company building/VC is going to be fun.

wow, you’re totally right. there’s a reason why Parker Conrad was able to raise to go after a compound startup. Taking your point a step further though, I think with AI there will be founders who bootstrap compound startups to 7 figures ARR, making the belief part easier for VCs. You know how that goes :)
