Kenny Pickett really is not bad. He hasn’t done anything to resemble terrible. His biggest issue is he doesn’t have many TDs. He has skill and a higher ceiling than the bashers insinuate. The Steelers offense will be in good hands, however small they may be. He will get better.

Tomlin believes in Kenny as the 1. But, given the circumstances, Mason playing well, Kenny not having played a snap in 5 weeks, crucial games not wanting to chance what’s CURRENTLY working. If it were week 5 Tomlin might have already put Kenny back in.

I want Kenny to start, I think he’s not gotten a fair chance to prove himself. Canada, growing pains, poor effort from his teammates all led to iffy play. He also needs this late season experience. But, 100% Mason Rudolph deserves to start, he’s earned the right to continue.

Steelers play the long game, always have. It’s not “we need a QB now! We don’t have time to mess around!” It’s more “we’re going to give Kenny another chance with a new coordinator” They work patiently, a championship window will appear in time. And they know that.

@MPFrazer I was just telling someone else this exact thing. Prwr is a theoretical stat. It’s all based on “if A happens then B should happen along with it” except clearly that’s not always the case with this stat. Thats why it’s much more reliable to judge a player by tangible stats.
