With these 3 signings and the release of Dashaun White for an NFL opportunity. The XFL and USFL have combined for 100 NFL signings. Setting a new record for most NFL signings from spring leagues in a year.
The XFL has announced that three additional players from XFL teams have signed NFL contracts. ARL TE Sal Cannella signed with the Seattle Seahawks, SEA WR Juwan Green signed with the Kansas City Chiefs, and DC WR Josh Hammond signed with the Denver Broncos.

With this signing, the 2023 Birmingham Stallions have the modern record for most NFL signings by spring football team with 15. The AAF San Antonio Commanders had the most with 14 before.

It’s been a high scoring weekend in the UFL and the final game has a chance at a record. With 51 combined points in the San Antonio-St. Louis game, this will be the highest scoring weekend in modern spring football history(AAF/XFL/USFL/UFL). The record was set in XFL 23’ week 10.

The players that are re-signing are XFL players that played last season and didn’t sign an LOI in the fall. Below is a thread of every player that needs to re-sign team by team. On my doc these names are in bold until they sign in the future.

You can only keep 50 man. I’m complementing your guys depth by say good players aren’t going to be good enough to make it. If you’re not cutting those guys, you’re cutting other great players. Be ready for cut down cause it is about to break your heart.

Missed in the excitement behind the kickoff is a rule change that has a huge effect on the UFL. Suddenly there will be up to 64 additional NFL camp spots available than there was last year. Will likely boost the amount of UFL to NFL signings by a good few.
Another change: NFL teams are now allowed to place up to 2 players on IR before rosters go from 90 to 53 and still have those players designated for return during the season.
Before this, any player placed on IR during camp would be out for the season.

Hey I’m the writer of that article, just want to clarify that article is just my opinion. As for why I have them cutting those guys. Bham added a lot of talent this offseason. Don’t be surprised if some of your favorites are on the outs cause of that.

Im very excited to see where play is in year three. The first season had no offseason and year two delt with 4 new head coaches and losing a ton of players to the XFL and NFL. With an offseason that hopefully has less turn over the play has to improve even more.

Biggest takeaway from our community rankings is that people are sleeping on San Antonio. They have top half of the league talent and if they’re able to put it all together, they could be firmly in the playoff mix.

Yeah there’s about a half dozen player that were taken off rosters that were never officially announced as cut. Everything I’ve heard was they were cut. Landers is one of those players. I haven’t seen anything about those 2 players getting placed on IR. Where did you see that?

He’s a vet run stuffing edge that’s only getting 2.5-6 mil this year. I think everyone is overreacting to the signing. He’s nothing special and isn’t gonna dramatically effect Ojabo development plan or be some crazy steal for the Ravens.

When you start any kind of business you have start up costs (equipment, creating IP, Etc). so Fox is trying to be as cheap as possible in year 1 to account for those costs. Then once the USFL is off the ground they will expand the operation.

Plus I think people forget that these are developmental leagues. Even if they’re aren’t 32 spring football level starters right now, those players will develop season to season and the play will improve across the board.

I certainly could look dumb in a few months but those 2 both have ties to the USFL and I think they’re better then at least some of the starting QBs in that league so I don’t think they’re in the XFL unless they think they are starters.

Right now, by my count, there are 31 players that played spring football this season and are currently on either active rosters (3) or practice squads (28). Outside of a name or two they’d all be on the couch rn without spring football.

The Maulers continue to have a very strong free agency period. Overton gives Pittsburgh some size at WR that was lacking. Wouldn’t surprise me to see Overton take a jump now that he’s out of a very crowded Philly receiver room.
