If they're that talented they wouldn't need an AI prompt to "fill in the details". Also all of the poses & angles of shots look exactly alike. There's nothing dynamic about the art, because AI lacks spark of innate creativity & those who rely on it in crux lose that spark too.

Key word there: *SIE*, not Sony. If Sony want to leverage their operating income to account for an M&A for SIE, they can do so. That's what Microsoft did for ABK; that was not Xbox division financing the purchase. There are other ways to buy too besides outright cash.

The disingenuous PR boasting has begun. We know the truth of MS's intentions due to the email and document leaks, that doesn't suddenly just "disappear". My conflict in wanting Xbox to do better as a platform is fueled by people like this who enable the worst console warring.

I see no point to this device. It looks clunky, and isn't even really cloud-based, the game streaming is just Remote Play to the PS5 in your home. This REALLY should've been a PS4 Portable w/ PS5 Remote Play functionality built in. Instantly more market value.

Xbox LOSING market share in its two strongest markets, only two years into the gen, is not PS "coasting off PS4". It's PS5 itself proving the better market option for the majority of customers, hence why the sales & revenue are vastly different.

Sega did this same strategy with the Saturn back in the '90s; to improve the financials, they lowered the number of Saturns produced, and lowered sales targets alongside that. Given Xbox Series is turning into Microsoft's Sega Saturn, the parallels are uncanny.

1.89 million cumulative for a 4-month period is almost or over 25% less than what XBO typically managed (2.5 - 3 million); at this rate they'd only manage 5.67 million sold-through for all of 2023 which is on par with OG Xbox's 2003 (5.7 million).

People like Colin just *do* *not* *get* *it*. Day 1 PC for all Sony games would destroy a lot of the demand for the console among hardcore & core enthusiasts. It'd also increase development time, dev costs, spread thin optimization efforts, etc.
Helldivers 2 loudly echoes what we've been saying for ages on the show: Sony should release its games on PC day-and-date, period.
PlayStation has already easily won 'the console war.' It's time to go get new audiences!

What he's describing is basically a form of predatory pricing, which is an anticompetitive practice, and something that's been part of the concern at least with some regulators. And rightfully so. MS don't have to operate Xbox as a self-sufficient division needing big profits.

Competing doesn't normally mean buying massive 3P publishers out of the market. It usually means building teams from the ground-up to make compelling games, or buying smaller devs to do the same. There are reasons why Ninja Theory etc. purchases went through easy.

Not really. Either Sony did a full-on portable and split up dev resources even more, or they did something like the PS Portal. Which, at least you can use it anywhere you go, long as your PS5 is on and connected to a home network. When I found that out it made much more sense.
