This district (and others with heavy flooding) isn't even downstream of the Indian dam. CNN can't even fact-check basic geography.
@amcoren entering the epicentre of the #flooding in #Feni #Bangladesh, where residents are wading through chest-height water to get to safety, or awaiting rescue from the army & volunteers @CNN @salmancameraman

@protosphinx You're impressed by automated vehicles navigating a fixed route like a parade? This could have been done 30 years ago.

@SarahTheHaider Gazans should have control of their own territorial waters and the ability to engage in fishing in their EEZ as well as conduct free trade internationally. It's Israeli ships that occupy and restrict Gazan territorial waters.

@jc_1303 "drivers got annoyed and attempted to maneuver their way around us. This particular white woman tried to cut through a gas station.". So they tried to avoid confrontation and you still chased them down?.

@MHarroldCTV “ Some Ukrainian Montrealers had asked the OSM to cancel Malofeev's performances, saying it wasn't about his stance on the war but about promoting a Russian product, in this case a "cultural product."”. This is extremist bigotry, plain and simple.

@Shanks2099 @ask_aubry It seems like he has an ego about being a professional programmer and is taking personal affront that his daughter is making a mockery of his job. People on the spectrum don't usually take things so personally.

@tlieserLA @JodiHernandezTV @janewells I'm guessing this and the Union square robberies in SF were planned with the expectation there would be Rittenhouse verdict protests (which do not appear to have occurred).

@clockworkwhale @tomgara It’s obviously not sentient (or even on a spectrum of sentience) but it does appear far more capable than previous AI chatbots. Uncanny ability to keep track of the unspoken topic and keep putting out responses consistent with a single mindset.

It's gross how college admissions departments have turned personal hardship and tragedy into something you use to market yourself.
At 12 years old, Abigail Mack lost the “s” in “parents.”. The loss of her mother to cancer became the subject for her Common Application college admission essay. That essay got her into Harvard University — and went viral on TikTok.

@razibkhan I remember talking to a Brit and going "there must be some understandable hatred towards desis after this" and he was like "no we know it's not Indians just Pakis". Was an eye-opener to me, since the India-Pakistan divide isn't very salient in 2nd gen desi-Americans.

@SarahTheHaider Gazans are restricted to fishing within 15 miles of Gazan land, instead of the ~140 miles of exclusive economic zone they should be getting. And as I said they don't have unimpeded ability to trade internationally despite bordering the sea.

The failure mode of Indian cooking is that the spices are so good they can make anything taste good to discerning palettes, including carb slop. I can't even think of an equivalent word to "hearty" in Indian languages. Taste in India is based on spices, not heartiness.
Normal people the world over love Indian food. If you cry about it being “slop” then it’s you who looks like the terminally online loser.

Getting tired of the loser mentality from Hindus. You're a clear majority in India. Start exercising your electoral power instead of acting like an aggrieved minority.
@i_desi_surya In the coming years, there will be only red and green visible everywhere in India, saffron will be a small dot somewhere in the corner.🤬.

@ZyMazza That story was popular precisely because the Romans were technological accelerationists, and saw Tiberius’ actions in this apocryphal story as worthy of mockery. On a side note, the Romans developed a liking for artificial sweetener made out of lead.

Every fence-sitting Hindu should take note. These people want to erase our identity.
Carving out the category of “Hindu-American”—as opposed to its alternatives, “Indian-American”—has been a key step. It allows a group such as the Hindu American Foundation to erase the relationships between many Hindus and other South Asians.

@primalpoly @robertwiblin We're playing an iterated game. If nuclear blackmail is allowed to work, more countries will pursue nuclear weapons and use the threat of nuclear strikes to achieve their territorial goals. A lack of deterrence here actually increases the risk of nuclear war in the long run.
