OPPENHEIMER IMAX70MM SHOWINGS WILL NOT HAVE TRAILERS. Due to the size of the print maxing out the platter size, the movie will start promptly at showtime. Arrive not just on time, but early! (meant to tweet this earlier in the week but totally forgot ugh)

OPPENHEIMER with a live orchestra is pure ecstasy!! Two things: 1. The orchestra literally stamps their feet during the auditorium speech scene and it’s fucking amazing 2. The only thing more intense than the Trinity Test in IMAX is that scene with a live orchestra. HOLY FUCK

It’s kinda crazy just how quickly TENET garnered a cult following. It’s a great film but it does lend itself to being celebrated for its cheese too. Last night’s screening at the Aero resulted in cheers anytime the words “protagonist” and “temporal pincer movement” were said.

Haven’t seen anyone else comment on it but the clouds during Peele’s title card are literally moving at a single frame per second. And based on Palmer’s dialogue about frames per second, this aliens are probably going to have something to do with our perception of motion.

The OPPENHEIMER disc is STUPID beautiful. Might be the best, if not one of the best, 4K discs I've owned. This is just on my projector, it looked significantly better on my OLED. And the sound mix is fantastic, my speakers were throttling.

CRAZY story about Oppenheimer - Originally, it was supposed to be a 90+ day shoot, but production designer Ruth De Jong needed more money to bring specific sets to life, so Nolan managed to bring the schedule down to 57 DAYS and use the remaining funds for her department. INSANE

This is fucking insane. The hype for Oppenheimer in IMAX 70mm has absolutely reached its zenith. Pre-2008 it was unheard of to shoot a theatrical film in this format. Then Nolan did with The Dark Knight. 15 years later the format is selling out everywhere, every time.

I literally cannot shake the ending of OPPENHEIMER. We spend the first third in his mind - abstract nightmares of where theory can take you - and we end with those abstractions fully, tangibly manifested in the world we live in today. It’s powerful, devastating and terrifying.

For some reason people put so much stock in Nolan's genius and forget that he's just a very efficient filmmaker. If he can re-use a shot, he will. More importantly, if he can re-use a technique, he will. Look at these shots from TDKR, the exact same plate, just different VFX.

For the record, I'm all for the usage of the "protagonist" moniker. It certainly sounds silly at points, but the meaning goes beyond a name and is more about "the protagonist" coming to full terms with his purpose and importance in the overall mission. He is THE leader.
