Stop sleeping on GRC roles. Gave my client his new resume last night and look what he got in his inbox today. Btw this role pays 80k-110k. There’s more to cybersecurity than hacking.
Twitter will have you believing above average salaries like 120k, 130k , etc ain’t money 😅😂😂 don’t let these people fool. The data don’t lie on what average Americans make
🚨🚨🚨offer alert
Client is a fireman and just received his first offer for a base salary of $95k for a cybersecurity analyst role.
We’re trying to get that total comp up now as I tweet
Are you curious about a career in GRC and cybersecurity? In this video,
@AriaImagined
shares her journey of starting as a fraud analyst at American Express and eventually earning a nearly $100k salary increase in her first GRC role.
Imo the AWS Certified Cloud Practitioner certification is one of the better entry level certs you get in the industry based on value alone. The information you're exposed too can really help shape your cloud career in case you go that route.
Had a consult today
And the client talked about wanting to getting in to cyber
And the one of the first things he led with was getting A+ and the “Trifecta”
I hit him with the K Camp Quick
Client just received an offer for an entry level security engineer role
80k + stock incentives
More than double what she was previously making
She put in the work on day 1 and got desired results.
One thing I noticed years ago in tech was that companies have no problem hiring black people for their low end roles ie helpdesk. Matter of fact sometimes those are the only jobs where it’s a lot of us there
If you pass the sec+ in 3 weeks without experience
You can see now why outside of government most of us who interview some of your don’t care about the certs as much
The only reason some companies trying to make us come in to the office is because they’re ran by old people
All millennials know most of our jobs can be done at home with no issue
Getting high salaries early on in your career is similar to what happens in the dating market
Your comfortable turning down what is a good deal for an even better deal
Whereas the other people take what they can get
People real deal hate I have a show that showcases black people in cyber and tech
People who would not even know they could be in cyber if it wasn’t for some of my content. 🤦🏽♂️
You know what’s trash my last podcast episode we discuss my guest’s Total Comp that is around 500k
Yet black ppl in the comments call cap however if my guest was a different hue they would believe it with no questions asked

How to Get into CyberSecurity in 2021 | CyberSecurity Roadmap 👍🏽
Free game
Splunk isn’t the only siem out there
Look into Microsoft sentinel, Microsoft has a certification path dedicated for you to learn this platform.
I’d highly suggest those of you who work from home to visit the chiropractor. All that sitting down and staring at screens has done some shifts to our body’s alignment
Hello to my new followers, my name is Henri Davis😃😃

I've been in IT for about 10 years now and im going on 6 years of being in cybersecurity.
Free information is not always better then paid information
Matter of fact most people don’t take free game seriously anyways
When you pay for something you’re more invested into the outcome
Everyday y’all get mad at what people choose to PRICE their Services at
If you wouldn’t pay for it then you’re not the targeted customer 🤧🤧
I’ve found out the people that want real results don’t care about the price just the outcome
Almost finished with these 3.5 hour interviews for a senior management role and let me tell you what they haven’t asked me about yet.
They ain’t make one mention about a CISSP nor did they bring up Schooling 🌚🌚
Stuff like this doesn’t equate to massive subs or monetization
However it does show how good information can impact someone you’ve never met to help them out of their own situations 💪🏽💪🏽
It’s gone take some of you more than 45,90, 180, 365 days to get six figures in cybersecurity
Stop rushing “your” process and do what you gotta do to reach your end goal
There’s a guy on LinkedIn that got his certs and wgu degree
But hasn’t found any work
He even made a LinkedIn banner to show “Dying”
But honestly the reason he can’t find anything is lack of strategy and lack of skills for the roles he’s applying too
Just had a consultation with a young man who is a data engineer
He wanted to go into pentesting but then I showed him how his skillset
Aligns with
Data Security
Cloud Data security
Data governance
Etc
This is why guidance from us vets is important

In a span of 2 years I really doubled my compensation 🤧🤧
No it wasn’t easy
No I didn’t do it by getting alot of certs
It came with hard work and being in position to be able to land these type of roles
I’ve worked at the same company for 9 years and never job hopped. Why’d I just look up other jobs in my field and find out they’re paying 50% more than what I’m making 🫠
Tech click baiters be like
I went from no experience to making $200k in a senior DevOps role 3 months into my career
Me checks LinkedIn
It says they’ve been in DevOps since 2019
