I’ve been noticing a difference in my medical care since I’ve been doing this. Longer explanations about treatment, friendlier encounters...it shouldnt have to take me being in med school to not get messed over medically.
I’ll never not tell a doctor at a visit that I’m in Med school because their whole demeanor changes when they hear that and they treat you like maybe you have a clue about what you need rather than just not listening and thinking they know best.

I’ve seen many ER docs consult plastics for lacs on children, young adults, and other physicians. This feels like directed outrage towards a black woman physician for voicing an example of inequity. Nothing was said about lack of skill set rather the need for a specific skill set
