An incident occurred at the British Library on Friday 10 May where 2 individuals attacked the toughened glass case containing the Magna Carta in the Library’s Treasures Gallery. The Library’s Security team intervened to prevent further damage to the case, which was minimal.(1/2)

academic success is largely a lottery, so it is absolutely not worth sacrificing your wellbeing or your family/platonic/romantic relationships in the hopes of marginally increasing your chances on the job market

gentle reminder for PhD students: things like working overtime, missing sleep, any period of misery, prioritizing work over personal life, and working weekends/holidays aren't requirements for success and anyone who promotes those things is just trying to exploit you
