@22classy @Julesheningburg One take that I offer to the kids I coach is being “predictable” to your teammates, as a dodger. C.O.D. is a hell of a weapon, but you may end up shaking or freezing your own off ball guys.. The ability to separate without confusing them is elite!
Some players are extremely "easy" to play with, and some players are very "difficult" to play with. What makes a lacrosse player "easy" to play with?

In the programs that I’ve worked with (LB3, 3D Ga, Nation United, Nations Best, etc.), the college guys are the ones really stirring the drink They engage in more 1:1 or small group stuff. They hang out at the tent and pay it forward Kids want to be them! All that matters

@coachking_28 @RyanFlanagan24 Which markets do not have clubs that do that, consistently? Curious as to how the free market continues to choose them. Additionally, I would much, much rather have my kids being taught and mentored by a current college guy than a veteran hs coach. Inspiration -> Dedication

@coachking_28 @RyanFlanagan24 Most, if not all of the clubs in ATL do that. 3D Ga, Thunder, Team 91 GA for sure offer it. Kids are 1000% better off joining a club team and playing rec ball than they are “just” doing rec Most people who have an issue with club ball don’t attend the free stuff.

@RyanFlanagan24 @coachking_28 100% agree with Flanny. Watched my dad dedicate his life to growing the game in Chattanooga, Knoxville, Nashville, etc. Lots of kids playing 3 by, rec, constraints, etc. Within 3 years of LB3 existing in ATL it transformed the entire landscape of the sport. That’s the model.

Skill dev comes from dedication outside of practice and fun. We lament the current structures, but imo we’re misdiagnosing the problem. DEDICATION follows INSPIRATION. INSPIRATION follows AFFIRMATION. Nothing is more fun and affirming than winning, especially early.
