@taylor_andrewj @SustEnvFarming Absolutely. Unlimited inheritance but if it's sold, tax is due, on the basis that at least there will be money to pay it. It will mean that sometimes more land may need to be sold, but it'd be far less crippling than the current barmpot idea

@Hirst6Mike @SustEnvFarming Farm jobs are some of the most secure and well paid for those that give a shit beyond 5 o'clock on a Friday. They also get paid come hell or high water, even if the farm makes a loss. Don't assume that farmers are rolling in cash, because they're not.

@SteveGr41417727 @RTKfarmer @UKLabour If farmers have no problem paying tax on profit, but the profit as a % of asset is under 1%. Nobody knows when they'll die. How can we pay iht at that roa? Prices for produce haven't gone up in 30 years, and any blip is matched by a dip.
