I’m always asked how I do my headlight polishes - so here’s how I do it. If you really want to opt for clear coat you can do that after the sanding stage, but while it may last longer…. Once it peels, it’s a pain to redo. See comments for video.

It’s not an issue. Higher octane allows for more advanced timing which allows for a more complete burn. More power, less emissions. However, fuel quality sensors and knock sensors are two key components to just about every vehicle in the past 10-15 years. These help it adjust.

Original air filter on a 2019 prius prime with 30k miles.
They were having their oil changed every 3k miles as well. I honestly don’t think this engine has run more than an hour in its life

That said, pinging “spark knocking / pre ignition/ detonation” can cause damage and some cars just aren’t happy with lower grade fuel. Mostly occurs under heavy load due to the extra heat being generated. And since most everything is turbocharged anymore… it’s worse.

Also, my rule of thumb is if it’s turbo / supercharged and you aren’t trying to haul ass or cargo, regular will usually be fine. Step up a grade if it makes that pinging noise.
Non-turbo? Regular is fine. Yes, even in the “high performance” cars. Unless you’re beating on em.

Customer states that ever since we did the oil change on her car 6 months ago, there’s been a warning light on the dash and the alarm beeps when she tries to lock it.
The door wasn’t closed properly after they took it home and stayed like that until we changed the oil today 😂

Customer brought this in for a failed wheel bearing. They had just bought it from a dealer and completed 2500 miles of their 5k mile road trip when it came in. They were not aware of the rust and we declined to work on it. Also every warning light possible is on 👀. RIP Sienna

Ah finally something dumb. Customer states something in the brakes feels loose. Well as it turns out, I now have a free 11mm wrench. Pulled up the service records and found that a brake flush was done 33k miles ago back in 2020. This has been there since. 😂

Car came in, no start issue. Mobile guy said it was a fuel pump, customer declined and replaced it themselves. Wouldn’t start after. Towed to another shop who said it needed timing chains. I found this on the FP relay 😐

Hey uh. PSA.
Don’t use a heat gun to dry out a fuel tank.
I shouldn’t have to say it, but that’s exactly what one of the techs did at a neighboring shop and he may lose his hand. In just a flash.
Tank was empty but fumes are a thing. VERY lucky it wasn’t worse, but not good.
