The Santa Monica that Mike is describing existed 10 short years ago. I noticed a change in 2014, the vibe was gone. Crazy and homeless people were present on the streets and then I began seeing trash everywhere.
Santa Monica was the dream. Wake up on Saturday, pour over coffee, walk to Equinox, lift, steam room, hang out all day the the Pier or 3rd Street Promenade. Walk everywhere at night - even women. No druggies. No crime. Like living in a movie. โHow is this real life!โ. Now?

@FischerKing64 I think you're correct because the Software Engineers I work with are pretty casual discussing politics, Trump, crazy American culture. Immigration came up and they tell me that it takes 1-2 years for a H1B visa to be approved for U.S. and 8-10 years for a green card.
