Some assholes like bragging that "Ukraine can't beat Russia without NATO." These are literally people who idolize bullies. Most are probably Russian but it also fits the MAGA mindset.
She's smaller. We should help her & not just by giving her weapons. NATO should intervene.

Nobody owes Russia a sphere of influence. Nobody owes Russia a neutral Ukraine. Historical Russian abuse has driven all of its neighbors from its orbit. NATO has not "expanded eastward". Nations east of NATO fled westward for protection and normalcy.

We appreciate the thanks, but please know that many of us are quite frustrated with the slow pace of aid and the unwillingness to supply ATACMS as well as cluster munitions for HIMARS launchers. And much else. Our response, while big, has been disappointing. Very disappointing.

He ran toward Hamas and yelled to the other person (wife? daughter?) to run the other way. Basically he sacrificed himself by acting as a decoy, as opposed to how Hamas would sacrifice their kid/wife for the sake of a bigger microphone.

I suspect not. The Russian narrative paints Ukrainians as the little brother to big brother Russia, but in fact the reverse is true. Ukrainian identity predates Russian identity. "Ukraine is part of Russia" is a fabrication meant to justify Russian imperialism.

No, Ukrainians are fighting to remove Russian soldiers and mercenaries from Ukrainian land. Ukrainians and Russians are dying because of Putin's words and actions. But yes, we (US) are willing to help support them with money and weapons. And yes, it's money well spent.

Yeah, one time a big dog attacked a kid in my neighborhood. We just watched or went inside our houses so as to keep the violence minimized to one person & also we didn't want to miss our dinners. The kid only ended up losing a leg, so I feel like we made the right call.

What about option C: NATO intervention? I guess it's probably unrealistic. I don't agree with the Russian talking point that US/NATO will draw this war out to the last Ukrainian, but I think we might draw it out to the last Russian tank. At the expense of Ukrainians.

To my knowledge, AWACS data goes to several NATO countries who then alert Ukraine, but AWACS are NOT data-linking w/ Ukraine and my bet is they will continue to not link even when F-16s arrive because . . . Biden/Scholz.

Yes, free speech is protected even if it is false. That's why the government cannot require companies to censor information. The companies did it of their own volition because they also have an interest in protecting their platforms from disinformation.

Ukraine has made resupply difficult & slowly, stealthily made the AO rather inhospitable to Russian vehicles, artillery, drones, & EW teams. Meanwhile, Zelensky's "mistake" of engaging in "pointless battles in the east/north" have sapped left bank Russians of equipment & troops.

Poland was there from the start. Imagine if the rest of the world had behaved like them. There would have been no minefields or dragon's teeth because Russians wouldn't have had time to settle in and get comfortable. Meanwhile, the US & Germany follow some secret policy of delay.

While those words initially sound encouraging, saying "Russia has already lost the war" actually sets the stage for the administration to start pushing Ukraine to negotiate. "Putin didn't achieve his objective. He has lost so now we can end this."
