This is Justin Trudeau's Canada and David Eby's BC. Dangerous drugs inducing a drug user into a violent stupor outside my home. There were families and residents frightened by this. Most elected politicians ignore these concerns. It's time 4 change.

The Mayor was doing his job, as Chair. It's a low bar to applaud, and the vast majority of speakers were respectful of the decorum and there to speak against the motion he supported. To say all opponents were unruly protestors is a bad look.

So you are saying all Richmond opponents were yelling and taunting? I think the vast majority of speakers spoke against, and were civil. Some people were passionate sure, and it's the Chair's job to keep order. Marie is a nomination candidate, we should know her stance.

I agree, this young man needs a chance and we need to prioritise detox and rehabilitation - following through with the other three pillars of the Portuguese model. Education/Prevention, Enforcement, and Treatment. Harm reduction on steroids is just harm extension.

I was trying to allow a civil exchange of ideas, but you are right. We can be too polite, and this City Councillor did not answer any questions, diverted by changing topics, and moving goalposts to avoid being responsible for anything. And attacked her constituents.

That was my thinking too. A lot can happen between now and then, but people are upset. It is insensitive to dismiss this legitimate concerns from local residents.

Many criminal groups are manufacturing fentanyl here in Vancouver and shipping elsewhere, we are a major hub in trafficking. We need to stop it whether it is made locally, or brought in from Mexico, the US, or China.

Just if she seemingly supports 'safe supply' and drug dens, why is she running as a conservative? She also never clarified or retracted her racist comments on Chinese ppl

That is the Mayor's job, to maintain order and decorum. The vast majority of speakers were orderly, but yes some people were impassioned on the matter. It got emotional when pro-drug activists told them to go back to China. They did not like being gaslighted and attacked.

Is Voice for Kids a political or neutral association? Are you active Conservative Party members? Two contestants inserted themselves in Richmond issues, one being ambiguous on drugs and the other supporting a Liberal MP. I felt it prudent to ask and engage in dialogue.

Honestly, we were lucky no one went outside and no one was coming in at that time. If that's what this man did to a tree, I wouldn't want to imagine what he'd do to a resident or family. People high on drugs are even a danger to trained police officers.

I did not say this was a safe injection site, kudos to your toxic ideology for falsely accusing me of things I didn't say. This guy is a guest of a resident in a neighboring Temporary Modular Home - which apparently has a consumption site of some sort. But that is not the point.
