Dude cmon. You can't talk about this without also talking about the driving force behind why its happened.
Wheres the Geoff who stood on stage and bashed Konami for not letting Kojima attend the Game Awards that time?
Speak up and actually use your platform to help devs.
The team at
@ToysForBob
is spinning off from Activision/Microsoft as an independent studio.
I’ve loved their games for 30+ years and am excited for the next chapter they will write.
PSA: Games getting announced years before their intended release is as much about raising interest to fill roles on the project, as it is getting the market hyped for it.
Dug up a bunch of notebooks from working on
#TheSkywalkerSaga
. Mainly the scrawlings of a mad man, but some decent scribbles hidden amongst the madness 😅
Hey folks.
Gonna be pausing development on ROOST for the foreseeable future as I may be affected by the layoffs occurring at Sumo.
It's taken a toll on my mental health and I can't handle game dev stuff outside of my day job work commitments.
I'll be back soon 💔
Still praying the studio does something with the massive foundation that was The Skywalker Saga.
It's got explorable planets, space combat etc
A shorter dev cycle, 'asset flip' sequel in the veins Majora's Mask, New Vegas, Vice City etc would be so welcome right now.
James Cameron has always got the best people making weapon concepts in his action movies, but the weapons in Avatar are some of the best.
The Wasp is so videogamey 🔥
During development, I ended up working on blaster combat, mainly working to improve the core control & feel of the shooting gameplay. I wanted to move away from the old style of aiming found in previous TT titles, to allow players to move, aim and shoot as freely as possible.
I'm back, fully recharged and hyped to get back into the world of Level Design.
Excited to announce that from Monday I'm officially joining the team over at
@LondonStudioHQ
as a Senior Level Designer.
Being a part of PlayStation is a genuine dream come true for me.
Let's go!
Over the moon with how these levels turned out. Lots of ups and downs along the way, but I think we ended up honouring the legacy of these iconic space-wizard-laser-sword fights whilst leaving our own stamp on them 🤗
#LEGOStarWarsTheSkywalkerSaga
Had my first "god I'm old" game dev moment yesterday.
Was looking at an amazing student project that was like a blend of DOOM 2016, Titanfall 2 and FEAR.
I said I love how much FEAR DNA it had.
The student replied.
"Oh I haven't played that, but my dad has."
ODST's diegetic waypoint system still impresses the hell out of me to this day. All of the monitors and adverts becoming directions is just *chef's kiss*. Never understood why it wasn't more widely adopted in other games.
Happy launch day to
#LegoStarWarsTheSkywalkerSaga
! I couldn't be more proud of the entire team for creating such an all-round fantastic celebration of Star Wars in video game form.
This is evident of a larger issue at play with how players have been conditions to interact and play games.
There's an entire generation who have never been "asked anything" from a game in the mainstream.

I'm excited to announce that as of Monday, I will be joining
@SumoDigitalLtd
as a Senior Game Designer. Extremely privileged to be joining the ranks and I can't wait to get stuck in.
It's with a heavy heart that today is my last day at
@TTGames
. It's been a great few years with the company, with some true highlights of my career so far, but now seems like the perfect time for a new adventure elsewhere, but more on that later!
I hope to god this is just me being midly traumatised by statements from game studios at the minute, but does this read like a "Thank you and goodnight!" to anyone else?
I was asked on LinkedIn about some good level design resources for beginners. There's a lot of great content out there, but these three videos immediately spring to mind everytime.
Anyone got any other favourites?

Lost my wallet on the underground last night. Been in an absolute state all evening and slept like shit.
Checked my work emails this morning to see this. Still some decent people on this horrid rock.
PSA: Always keep a business card in your wallet, absolute life saver.
I really hate how games are still viewed as this time wasting apparatus.
Games have some of the best soundtracks I've ever heard across film & TV combined.
Not that it matters, but one could argue that video game soundtracks are a more impressive feat than scoring a movie.
Last night, 39-year-old composer Ludwig Göransson won his second Academy Award for his score to ‘Oppenheimer’. In a heartfelt speech, he thanked his parents for giving him his foundation in music.
@OtyMark
Keep demystifying game development as much as possibly.
Ironically I always thought Bungie did a pretty good job at showing a peak behind the curtain in their vidocs etc.
Absolute longshot, but I don't suppose anyone knows any developers who worked on the space-walk sections of
#PREY
(2017)?
Would love to know what process was used to get that helmet / glass visor looking as good as it does.
Looks like 3D assets flanking the player camera maybe?
Thrilled to announce that today is my first day in my new role as Principal Level Designer at
@AurochDigital
I loved what the team did with 40k Boltgun, and I can't wait to dig my claws into a really special project that the team has been cooking up.
Let's go!
Still one of the highlights of working on
#TheSkywalkerSaga
was this encounter from Episode 9. We had a cool opportunity to essentially 'fill in-the-gap' of how Rey & Kylo ended up battling on the Death Star trench after they meet in the Throne Room.
Absolutely gutted about the character customiser not making it in the The Skywalker Saga.
Always thought that aspect added so much longevity into the LEGO titles. I need to make the bounty hunter of my dreams 😫
Praying that it makes it into the game post-launch 🤞

Hi! We'd like to address this point directly. This interview was from 2019, and sometimes features change throughout development.
We can confirm that LEGO Star Wars: The Skywalker Saga doesn’t have character customisation, but we do have 300+ characters for you to choose from.
#MayThe4thBeWithYou
! One of my favourite contributions to
#LEGOStarWars
was designing Rey and Kylo's encounter on Kef Bir. I got to work with amazing people throughout this project & I can't wait for people to experience EVERYTHING that the team has been working on.
Working with so many other talented team members to make sure duels were fun, accessible and juicy was one of my favourite parts of development on the project.
Can't wait to play all of the iconic duels in this game next year!

Don't @ a developer / studio in a tweet when you are outright bashing their game - you look like an absolute whopper.
It's offically been a month since I started making my horror game, Roost.
To celebrate, I wanted to show off the updated menu visuals and soundscape!
Shout out again to
@Leiwaan
for their awesome music.
Development is coming along slowly but surely.
Stay tuned.
I'm ready to quit. This is unacceptable. You jump into a full body of water, and there's no precipitation on Cloud. Wow, bone dry. It's PS5 only. It's 2024. SMH.

So... some news I've been sat on for a while.
Today is officially my last day at PlayStation
@LondonStudioHQ
It's been a fantastic couple of years helping to bring our magical adventure to life, and I'll miss the amazing folks that truly make the studio a magical place.

"NOT A MIMIC."
My tribute to Arkane Austin & PREY that I got added to my inky collection today.
Endless love & solidarity to the finee folks who gave us this masterpiece.

Getting a tribute tattoo to the mighty
@ArkaneStudios
today. Long overdue but much needed after the news of Austin shutting it's doors. Arkane forever.
@S_SerraMock
I'd have to disagree. In my opinion, demystifying the process only makes the art of something even more compelling. Behind the scenes of movies, art books, making of vidocs etc all of these things made me more obsessed with film, games and art in general.
Here's a little sneak peek to the intro of my first video essay. I'm aiming for it to be a brief retrospective of the

franchise, but mostly about how I think
#343i
intend to reshape Halo for a new generation, whilst remaining faithful to the original trilogy.

has gone gold - cue the Throne Room Theme! Huge congratulations to the team for the galactic work they've put into the game.
Fun fact: When a game is gold it means it's ready to ship!

Guillermo del Toro.
8 episodes.
Original story.
Non-linear narrative.
Flashbacks centered around Andrew Ryan and the founders of Rapture.
Turns into a horror-slasher-survival show near the end (similar to Sunshine from 2007)
Watch the money roll in.

Can take literally half a decade.
All depends on the project and what requirements are needed for it.
There's a whole range of reasons why studios stick with engines for so long.
Wednesday! Don't miss a world premiere new look at LEGO Star Wars: The Skywalker Saga (

It's no wonder the Blade project is in development hell when this is what you are up against
The human mind can't fathom how sauceless a Blade movie set in the MCU would look.
