fans get their desired wish and Almiron is sold, who is going to cop their abuse next? There's always someone, a scapegoat. Why can they not just back who wears the shirt through good and bad? Guaranteed they were quiet while Miggy was scoring last season.
@NUFCMurph
Those two clubs built their foundations without any financial limitations, they didn't need stadium revenue. Their success built marketrevenue. NUFC don't have that and we aren't allowed bigger sponsor deals, expanding the stadium is a way to close the gap.
@CraigHope_DM
@MailSport
Craig, genuine question... does it ever get tiring always looking for a negative spin? We got a point at the San Siro in our first Champions League game in 20 years. It might not be perfect but just for once give the old "bad news sells" philosophy a rest!
If anyone is worried about Ashworth leaving
#NUFC
just remember that it was his job to hire the best he could for each role in the club and yet we still have Shola in charge of loans...
So after this weekends games, can we just acknowledge that we lost three games to very good in-form teams and it isn't the mad crisis it was made out to be?
#NUFC
@NUFCMurph
I've actually not seen any of the slander of some of our players that people are condemning on here. Often with socials I find one person may say something stupid and then it gets blown out of proportion by everyone defending the player. Willock has been fantastic for us!!!
@mike_4d
So what your saying is other clubs didn't play well, Newcastle did and therefore finished above them in the league... you know that's the fundamental aspect of a sporting league right?!?
@JordToon
The majority of Villa and West Ham fans are pretty sound, they see the three of us in together against the 'big 6'. Sob on the Tyne is still a thing for some of our fans and that Villawatch needs putting on a register, otherwise there's plenty of decent fans out there.
@katiexbrownn
So you are saying a closed shop where only a select few can get tickets by abusing the points system to get mates tickets is a better option because it benefits you?
@Texas_Toon
Said for a while, a brand new state of the art stadium on Leazes Park would be amazing and a really good solution as they could then turn the current grounds land back into parkland, in particular a "wembley way" type walk up to the ground with fan-zone areas, statues etc.
@fra_macri
Non preoccuparti, ci prenderemo cura di lui. I tifosi del Newcastle non prendono alla leggera questi acquisti. Apprezziamo ogni piccolo successo che stiamo ottenendo in questo momento, sarà comunque un eroe!
@JordToon
Villa have 3 players out with injuries, that's it. Two more suspended for a game for 5 yellow cards.
Up until we got Longstaff and Wilson back for the Spurs game we had 13 players unavailable.
Apples and oranges mate!
@NUFCMurph
Because they would be worth a fortune to the right buyer and would be extra seats over and above the regular fan ones. We can't buy players and keep increasing wages without shifting the revenue stream of the club. Blame the EPL and the cartel for FFP, not the club.
@markgoldbridge
Oh "now" it's all about money, when you aren't the biggest fish in the pond anymore...?!? You've also spent MORE than Man City over the past decade. The entitlement here would be hilarious if it weren't so pathetic!
Anybody who was calling for Howe to be sacked needs to look at that Villa result. This is all Howe. He has had time to work with players and we are slowly getting back to our best. At some point we need to manage extra games BUT it's a new thing for most of our club right now!
@NewcastlexLIFE
There's bell-ends from all clubs, but what i'm seeing in Paris on here is targeted attacks by organised individuals actively seeking out trouble.
@bazza080808
Aussie Mags at the Sherlock in Melbourne. Had a great turn-out for the Toon Army Brisbane for it too at the Pig n Whistle. 10:45pm kickoff too (11:45pm down in Melbourne).
@TheMachine1981
Shola > Perez >Miggy > ??
I'm not saying Miggy doesn't need replacing long term, but he contributes more than ASM ever did yet he's idolised because he had a few pointless step overs 🤷♂️
I love the meltdown
#NUFC
have caused with the win over Arsenal. Make no mistakes, the establishment expected us to fade away, not to mount serious sustained assault on their dominance. The tears are out of fear and jealousy and I'm here for every single bit of it!!
Trippier had a nightmare there, but before anyone gets on their high-horse on here stop and think how good he has been. He has my backing 100% and will be back at his best in the next game I'm sure!
@NUFCMurph
I think player management dictates Miley needs a rest soon. Shouldn't be playing this many minutes at his age realistically. Longstaff not in great form since returning from injury but he is still doing the ugly stuff that we miss when he isn't there.
@sportingminute
If he stays fit he could be something generational. Imagine in a few years time, how good this team will be with the likes of Timo, Hall, Minteh and Miley all under 23. Gordon, Botman and Isak still only 26/27. 🤩
We bought Bruno for £35m, if he goes for £100m+ then as sad as it will be, that's some very good business that we know gets reinvested to get 2 or 3 new players back in the door and we are actually stronger for it. Up until then, if it even happens, we keep one of our best.
@LeeMaddy1968
If Sky had any balls they would ask him about his thoughts on a lower fee being quoted for Man Utd than was quoted in the summer from Nice for Todibo!
This season isn't about us winning the Champions League, it's about building the club back up and those games are super high profile and showcase everything the owners and fans want for this club. Great test for us and a huge chance to cause a stur if we do manage to progress.
@Fino76
The article has literally nothing to do with football other than using it as an excuse to bring the stick out to beat Newcastle fans with yet again. 🙄
Last season we rode a wave of positivity, took the momentum train as far as we could. Sadly this season has shown that the overall squad quality is still lacking. It was always going to take time to rebuild. I'm still trusting the process
#NUFC
and will judge Howe next season.
@EastwoodGreig
@snapshotsupers2
You're making the mistake of assuming that the vast majority of Man Utd fans come from a place of logic and consistency... they don't.
@NUFCMurph
Nah, I'm just being realistic about needing that stream of revenue if we want to continue to grow. Can't demand better players and to compete at the top but then not expect some catering to corporate shills. As long as it doesn't effect normal fans then I've no issue.
@JamesLu7980808
@donhutch4
Thanks to the Cartel 6 and the strict implementation of FFP as well as stopping us from injecting cash with hasty rule changes, everything we are spending has been within our means. The fact that we have spent WELL is lost on people like you, clearly.

Yes, let's listen to people who know absolutely nothing about the club, the culture or the success that has been instilled back to the club and follow the same suggestions that saw us ridiculed for "missing out" on Gerrard and Lampard!!!
#Clowns
@NUFCLC
As I keep saying, he needs upgrading, but the way some go on, you would think he's non-league standard. He's been awful of late but he's not the only one. We are very much a confidence side and miggy embodies that... he needs to turn it around and fast.

The Soccer Saturday panel discuss Manchester United's approach for Newcastle's sporting director Dan Ashworth 🧐
@markcostellouk
@NUFC
The state of the club thanks to Ashley was laughable. Sponsorship revenue was at rock bottom, facilities were a joke and the club didn't even own the rights to it's own merchandising. They have improved us beyond belief in such a short space of time.
@halliday_9
He was fantastic for us last season, not just in his goals but in the errors he forced with his pressure. Why wouldn't you have him? If we get better then fine but it's between him and Murphy at the moment.
@JohanJnrRidley
Everyone can say we were shite, we were. He isn't saying Howe should be sacked, Miggy sold and telling Trippier to "eff off"... there's a difference.
@Pooliemags1Ttv
Bollocks! I expected us to be winning trophies every season and finishing top 4 until we win the whole lot in year 4 or 5...simply not good enough. Howe out!!!
(for those with learning difficulties - this is called sarcasm.)
@TFMick1892
He has been amazing. The scary thing is, I don't worry about the day we need rest him with Tino there. Seems to be pushing Trips to be even better like Isak is with Wilson and we are reaping the rewards. Marvellous!!
Ange constantly speaks sense. I'm not sure the British tabloid press were prepared for it but he is 100% right here. Only reason we see this slowing down of the game is because the US owners are trying to manufacture ad breaks... I'm convinced of it.
@ToonPolls
Having a rant over a pint down the pub after the game with your mates is very different to getting onto social media and unleashing to excess while tagging players/owners in the posts. There's also sometimes a bit of context required.
Forced into making a new account, so once again will be pleased to connect with as many Newcastle United fans and any other fans who like a chat about all things football. Will follow back as quickly as I am allowed - cheers!
@john_nufc42
Nobody is bigger than the club. We had so little to cling to under Ashley we are all still frightened of losing anyone, but we will find someone else who clearly buys into the project on a more long term basis. With our owners, Eales, Silverstone we are still in good hands.
@PatrickTimmons1
But... I thought our manager could have a massive man-child tantrum, the club owners could send an official complaint and we the fans can keep going on about this for weeks to come at every opportunity... isn't that how it's done?
@piersmorgan
Just going to leave this for you
@piersmorgan
just in case you missed the "non victim" bit of the match. He goes off and it's a very different game... so let's not get too caught up on problems with the goal.
@aaron_kingscott
You can see he is just enjoying his football and it shows on the pitch. Howe is getting the best out of him. There's plenty of chips to cash in with Everton fans and their comments when we bought him, that's for sure.
There's no easy solution when demand out-strips supply as badly as it does right now at
#NUFC
- it will take time to find an optimal solution. Express your concerns, because there are some valid comments, but please do it with some dignity!
@TheToonReview
Criticism is expected, there was plenty to criticise from that game, but also some positives. The issue is far too often this platform is full of bi-polar spoiled brats who think it's ok to abuse their own players as soon as something goes wrong. Some go too far.
@TutFoster
@fra_macri
Some bairns just seen his hero leave for another club mate, I still remember being gutted when we sold Carroll let alone if I was a kid. Have a heart 🤷♂️🤣
While the chaotic aftermath carries on and we continue to get no credit from Sky for another win, can I just spare a moment to say, we have one hell of a player in Livramento. For 20yo he is so composed and reads the game so so well
#tino
#NUFC
@NCSL1892
We wouldn't be hearing any of this if they bought out Man Utd or Liverpool. I've said all along, the media pushback on this has absolutely nothing to do with who owns us, but everything to do with who they own!
Not the result we were hoping for, but a fantastic turn out for
#NUFC
at the Pig n Whistle Riverside here in Brisbane. Did themselves proud and had some cracking banter with the
#LeedsUnited
fans there too.
There's an element of being replaced by Shearer, BUT most NUFC fans I know would put him up among the best strikers to ever play for us. He probably still gets blamed for Blackburn winning the league from Man Utd fans.
@leazesender_
I think it's a fewbitter fans who gave up their tickets and are trying to come up with anything to say that they were a better fan. It's the only thing I can think of.
Huge game for us tomorrow, 6am for us in Australia... actually a sensible time for us. Sure all the lads from
@ToonUnderPod
will be watching before work. Bring it on!!
#NUFC
#NEWACM
#ChampionsLeague
@NUFCMurph
You can't claim Almiron is holding us back now yet fail to acknowledge his contributions last season helped us to get Champions League football. It's not like he is the only one struggling this season.
Some of these journalists are so depressed that NUFC are now a viable threat to the top clubs. He said no last month and has no release clause. I'm quite sure he wouldn't say no to the move but this just seems like very lazy journalism.
🚨 Man Utd make Dan Ashworth top target for sporting director. Not agreed + no approach to Newcastle yet but anticipated + situation expected to develop rapidly. Complicated by being contracted to
#NUFC
but 52yo said to be open to move
@TheAthleticFC

@Mag_PaulHow1969

@NUFC
Typical. Abuse someone then complain about getting abuse back and lock down the account so all the bad people dropping truth bombs don't bruise her fragile little ego anymore.
If Joelinton is fit, we wind the clock down, protect the lead and see the game out. Miggy isn't that player. Anderson, Barnes, Murphy come on and give u a change in momentum. Botman plays the whole game. Tell me again why injuries aren't affecting our form!?!?!
@john_nufc42
I also find it strange that Anderson is coming in for some criticism too. He's 20yo and probably hasn't played 3 games in a row in the same position.
So I lose my old account because
@elonmusk
decides to crack down on fake accounts and I retweeted something too often, but this new account gets endless interactions from spamming "looking for love" accounts. What a clusterfuck this platform has become!
@Magpie24_7
If all they get is a fine then PIF should just go full Saudi Pro league with us in the next window and take the EPL to court if we get anything more!
Despite our downfall this season being injuries and lack of squad depth (of sufficient quality), I'm still seeing some fans act like all we are interested in is a first XI. We need to sign improvements to squad players leaving as much as upgrades on first choice players

Forest and Everton should be jumping right on this and giving their lawyers a call. Saying that, how Masters is still in charge after the fisco of our takeover is just beyond me. In bed with the right people obviously (but remember it's not a cartel...).
@JackStanley86
Year 2 of what was said to be a 5 year project. Anyone who is going on about sacking managers or unhappy owners clearly didn't watch the Amazon special because the owners LITERALLY said they expected this year to be tougher. They will carry on building for sustained success.
@Pooliemags1Ttv
We are scoring more goals, conceding more. I am sure it's about finding that balance with a fully fit squad. A strong summer transfer window and we will be much better poised to go again. An FA Cup final or a top 7 spot to get some form of Europe would be very nice though!
@brunoog97
Pretty sure I speak for every REAL Newcastle fan out there when I say We Love You Bruno and are behind the whole team on this amazing journey you have set us on. Screw the click bait accounts!!
@worflags
Unless we want to go full European mentality of banging drums non stop then we will always have low points. It was pissing down with rain and we weren't playing particularly well. It's easy to make noise when scoring goals against PSG... not so easy when it's dull and soggy 🤷♂️
Once again
#NUFC
twitter after a defeat leads the way in batshit crazy overreaction. Selling Bruno is the benchmark of entitlement if you ask me... if you are on board with this sentiment then give yourself a shake!
@b3v
I completely understand the nostalgia but the reality is fans cannot have their cake and eat it too. It they expect new players and paying higher wages to keep the current stars here then things need to change to improve revenue and part of that will be getting a bigger stadium.
@lspark89
Howe probably feels a little betrayed. By all accounts the owners are not impressed with how Ashworth has handled this. This nig thing is the contract appears iron clad so either Man Utd cough up or we do it our way!
Not sure enough has been made of Botman winning the ball back for the move that led to the corner for our second goal. Superb strength on the ball to win that back for us on the edge of the Villa box. Marvelous stuff
#NUFC
@claynufc
Pre-season game, trying new things out and getting match fitness. No Bruno, Wilson, Murphy, Barnes, Targett. Willock and Longstaff still to come back in. Time left in the window to strengthen defensive depth. Let's not hit the panic button just yet.
@cyp_toon
My ideal scenario is a new mega-stadium on Leazes Park and then convert the current ground back into parkland with a St James' Park walk up to the ground lined with statues of former greats. Milburn, Shearer, Sir Bobby, Keegan.
@WestHamPlace
He's just making himself look like a tit and giving his players an excuse to be poor. Not one person in the media has asked him about that tackle by Havertz either... definitely seen red cards for that. The ref was poor all round, game too big for him but Arteta has zero class.
