Practicing medicine is for doctors, this “have-a-go” culture is a danger and disservice to our patients The UK’s national health service used to be the gold standard globally, now it’s a national disgrace Who’s being sold the lie, doctors or physician associates?

“My goal was to practice medicine, but didn’t think I needed to become a doctor to do it” If your goal is to practice medicine, you need to study medicine first. There are no shortcuts to patients safety. Pause the role immediately, then review whether they should continue.

@TomStocks1982 @UMAPsUK @rkodi23 Vexatious threats through regulators has been shown to cause serious harm. This is frankly appalling Also, I thought “Mr” when used in a medical context (i.e. a complaint from a medical regulator) outlined a medically qualified surgeon who had passed membership board exams?

@ExplosiveEnema2 @papodcast ABS may do, but the hospital itself has separate funding to employ a non-training grade doctor who is usually academic. The MS here is the highest qualification in breast surgery available worldwide. My issue was towards the comments about this PA and doxxing

@ExplosiveEnema2 @papodcast … however the individual has been following the BMAs MAP scope to my knowledge. She has been mentioned in the podcast but I don’t think doxxing her in this thread achieves anything except resentment and upset. This PA has always put me first in theatre. Focus on the top table

So many doctors are underpaid and have no idea, they blindly trust what their employers give them My colleague and friend @CardioShades developed for FREE (he pays for the servers out of pocket) to stop us getting scammed Thanks @DoctorsVoteUK

@CardioShades has been working tirelessly to make payslip literacy that much easier for doctors He’s made an app for FREE that checks if all of your deductions are correct. We are taught to “assume nothing” as mistakes always happen, make sure your paycheck isn’t one of them

@LinesandVents We might be looking at this the other way around. There is no shortage of reasons why UK doctors are leaving for greener pastures. Training bottlenecks are a significant one (in my opinion) coining terms like “F3 and flee”

This is incredible grassroots organising. Reps on the ground in their own time, making themselves known to doctors Something that to me just seemed like an unrealistic dream a few years ago. Inspiring work from the people who gave our union teeth

Personally had to cover in excess of 100 patients as a foundation doctor in surgery, holding 3 bleeps and trying to balance my sanity against finding a chair to just sit The job is often menacing, the least we can do is pay our doctors fairly

Bank holiday reminder: Resident doctors are the worst paid members of staff working in hospitals today. FY1/FY2s are the first port of call for dozens of patients and carry huge responsibility in ensuring patients stay safe. No wonder doctors are still angry.

@dominicarr @Anniedroid_ This is an awful way to address anyone, let alone a doctor colleague, on a public forum of all places. I sincerely hope this is an isolated event
