FEMA plays an integral role in disaster preparedness, response, and recovery. States would quickly be overwhelmed without their assistance...kind of why states REQUEST a disaster declaration.
Emergency management … resilience … mitigation … insurance … reduce disaster suffering … important public policy issues that need to be a higher priority. Disaster responders say ending FEMA would move tasks and costs to states, local governments
