Back on 'Sonic R Mania'. This time - Reactive Factory to Chemical Plant Zone!
I initially had some difficulty figuring out the core ground texture as the shiny metal needed something to contrast off of. Then I remembered Death Egg uses most of Chemical Plant's sprites!

) to the Mania ones, and messing with the UI to bring it closer to Mania.

Haven't worked on this for a few weeks. Made a few interesting changes to Radical City to Studiopolis. Sorted out the main structure, switched the mountain to be an "in development" area. Hard to spot how some textures work sometimes.

Worked more on Radical City -> Studiopolis a bit more, but also started looking at switching Regal Ruin to Hydrocity, a very different visual, but best Mania stage that can deal with the Knuckles statues, I feel.

Starting 'Sonic Fan Games HQ' in the late 90's, a community which still thrives today, had a massive impact on game creators today, Sonic or otherwise, and really started a lot of the sprite edits you still see today. So much has come out of the community of that site.

Previously I was choosing between makign Regal Ruin either Mirage Salloon or Hydrocity. I decided to move more to Salloon since there's just more to work with, and fits with the 'Mania' theme more. Did a lot more work on switching more textures this time around.

This was the initial 7 VHS run, based on the inside of one of the cases. These were released in 1993.
