My wife’s family are farmers. The present generation of Deere machines are not practical for family farmers to run. You have to have Deere mechanics with approved computers work on them. Since everyone is harvesting at the same time you can’t get them repaired before crops spoil.

In fact - Walz was an E8 Master Sergeant and never achieved the rank of E9 Sergeant Major. The reason he did not make E9 is because he quit the Sergeant Major academy so he would not have to deploy with his unit to Iraq. This is the opposite of Heroic - it is cowardice.

Spending Memorial Day with my roommate from 2/75. He was at Batt for a decade. Got out and got his degree and his commission. On his last deployment as a CO he was killed trying to save one of his NCOs after they were ambushed. He was going to be a guide in Alaska. Great dude.

Underlying this entire question is why he didn’t go to Sergeants Major Academy - he and his unit came up on orders for Iraq and instead of deploying he put in his Retirement packet. He effectively abandoned his Soldiers. To your question - the Army has the concept of “acting”

I went through this in US Army SERE-C course. They recommended the seats at the absolute rear of the aircraft. Most survivable based on crash data. Also taught us to count seat backs to the primary and alternate exits and to go over the seats to get out.

My wife and I had to take my mother-in-law to Memory care. She had severe sundowners and would wander at all hours. It ended up being the best thing we could have done. The group home she is in are experts and extremely caring. She has diabetes and they manage the disease
