When you're out in the wilderness, these are often used as trail markers, and shouldn't be knocked down. It's pretty easy to tell the difference between a trail marker and a random stack though.

Orthodox Christians actually have daily prayer structure. We also have fasting schedules. Fast every Wednesday and Friday, except on feast days, and have 40 day fasts before Christmas and Pascha (passover, or Easter)

Covering is actually much more difficult than it seems. Many babies will cry and refuse to nurse if covered. My daughter would only nurse if my wife held the cover up with her arm the whole time. Holding your arm up like that is very hard.
