@jessi_cata I don't really know of a good solution, but I do observe "do violent/crazy enough things to provoke journalists into widely dissemination your open letter and get more attention for your cause" seems to be a thing that has worked.

@niplav_site Claude 4 Requiem is probably around where it ends, which is appropriate

@RomeoStevens76 It depends if the intervention is more like ‘deal with psychological blocks’ or more like ‘practice strategic brainstorming’

@RomeoStevens76 I think conscientiousness has a persistence component but usually over longer time horizons Like right now I had to do 5 actions in a row that felt annoying. But part of conscientiousness is remembering/caring to do annoying actions later when they’re not right in from of you.

@RomeoStevens76 Also, as I navigate a healthcare bureaucracy this morning: I notice another component is "persistence / not giving up / continuing to generate ideas after your first one." Which certainly benefits from energy but I think it's a different thing.

@RomeoStevens76 I do think the energy+conscientiousness is also an important part of a package. But, a high agency / low energy/conscientious person can look for actions that either get them more energy, or get stuff done without energy.

@ohabryka @peterwildeford it sounds like he sort of half-gets-it, and a combination of his ideology and the framework of what he can give public comms him from fully getting it / communicating it

@RatOrthodox I would need to ask for clarification about "status report" and roll-to-disbelieve on this being a particularly universalizable move.

@RichardMCNgo Can you say some about how this compares to NYC (which I assume you've been to?)

@ESYudkowsky I believe @TheZvi has some concerns about this (although not necessarily exactly as phrased) and am curious what-if-anything you two disagree about.

@repligate nod. do you have any concrete advice (even if a bit vague and requiring adapting-to-context) for people who are trying to get LLMs to do useful stuff?

@besttrousers I wasn't tracking at the time – what did 1998 people think the internet would do that it hasn't?

@nickcammarata I've been asking myself similar questions and it generates things like "Spin up new companies or communities to make this problem more solveable"

@robertskmiles @ESYudkowsky I think Game of Thrones might be a world where magic is clearly real but gods are about as obviously real as in our world. Ie just because electricity exists doesn’t mean god exists, same with magic.

@BenGoldhaber @DKokotajlo67142 What actually are the active ingredients of a “Situational Awareness”-esque piece? I assume part of the necessary bits is somehow playing some kind of political game but I don’t really get the rules/constraints
